UK is SLIDING to some kind of post APOCALYPTIC stage of state, thank God Brits quickly forget how prosperous was UK just 20 years ago.. in a way that is mearciful gift, because they would get constantly depressed if they would be constantly reminded how deeply UK have fallen and this process is not over by far

The entire management culture and ethos of business and the higher echelons of too many of our public services are 'represented' in Parliament – about the only way in which the H of C IS representative.Talented people are squeezed out, bullied out or ignored. Or they find the culture so toxic they keep a low profile or become disillusioned, or worse still ill, and drop out altogether. None of the very best people I worked with reached the top jobs. Too many of the people who did reach the top were stupid, egotistical and unprepared, and spent a lot of their time shooting down those below them who were more intelligent and critical of the way things were run. Johnson, Truss and Sunak have all created chaos, just like the 'leaders' who increasingly dominated my 'profession' – 'ha ha' to both of these.

You need to follow the money, Hunt was brought back after years away I saw a story on Bloomberg around 2014, showing Hunt visiting monthly Black Rock Bank meetings, I was amazed to see him back in parliament, but that the global agenda through the WEF and WHO all funded and supported by black rock, I truly see Larry Fink as the new anti christ. Our govts have little or no power apart from stopping minor parties getting a foot hold in govt. all the time we don’t have one man one vote we will never have true democracy, also dividing towns and villages in to wards, how is that democracy, The LGBCE works together with Local Authority Districts (LAD) to make recommendations for change. And can change boundaries on a yearly basis, these boundaries can promote govt agendas,
Well we know why Hunt was brought back in, he was groomed for the job, but why Cameron, it seems his last few years out of office have been hidden, I think it was a they felt they’d made a mistake letting the Bloombergs story run although no pictorial or written evidence is available now, I think the more free speech deteriorates, the less we will be allowed to know what’s going on

Twice from this government – Macaroon and Lord Hoar-Hoar. The first was out of desperation and the second was probably nepotism, Lord Hoar-Hoar being a particularly incompetent member of a notably incompetent Cabinet.

How strange that there wasn't an option on this poll that explained the rubbishness of British politicians by stating the obvious–that the UK is Plutocracy with a flimsy window dressing of democracy. It is all a shabby facade. The eternal British ruling class owns your impoverished, irrelevant country. Your politicians are nothing more than the eminently disposable, interchangeable minions of the ruling class oligarchs. Keir Starmer, for example, runs "Labour" and won't even let his MPs back striking workers. Your government does not in any way represent you or your interests. Marie Antoinette at least said, "Let them eat cake." You are simply told to eat sht. And don't complain about it.

    December 17, 2023 at 9:02 pm

PR electoral system is desperately needed. Key is to get rid of the tories first. But also a coalition lnvolving lsbour, not the tories to force a PR referendum.

Ok there waa a referendum for electkral reform kn 2011, but it was the only system (AV) that could have been considered even worse, not better than FPTP. And it was Cameron who was PM when AV vs FPTP referendum was held. Caneron knew it was almost certain that the electorate would see AV as a poor alternative to FPTP. The country did not reject voting reform altogether, only AV. The result did not prove that the electorate thought that FPTP was highly popular and atill want FPTP to be the electoral aystem in general
    elections forever more.

Labour need to start embracjng coalitiions. The tories keep mocking the lib lab pact of the 1970's, but the toriea are quick to form a coalition if it hslps them be in or remain in government, as they proved in 2010 and 2017 when they did not gain a majority.

The problem is lack of competition. Fptp creates safe seats where anybody with a red or blue rosette gets elected- secondly lack of internal party democracy where candidates and the party leader are chosen by the party apparatus rather than by voters. This promotes toadies and groupthink rather than independent thinkers (also populists).

There is a real sense now that the Tories know they are out in 2025 and they are racing to fleece the state whilst they still can, besides enriching themselves, it also makes life harder for the next government, whilst the mindless masses immediately forgot about the preceding events.

  34. @bm8725

    December 17, 2023 at 9:02 pm

Because they're a mirror image of the vast majority of the British electorate. That's to say, feckless, incompetent, immature, rude, poorly educated with little to no work ethic and no concept of personal responsibility, jealous of anyone around them doing better than them, complaining that everything's not fair, while waiting on "va gov'ment" to do everything for them, before complaining that taxes and inflation are too high while wages are too low. All that is linked by the way. If you vote for people like you and if you only want them to be paid the same as your average Tesco middle manager, don't be surprised when you get the collection of chimpanzees that we have right now. You get what YOU vote for, so try thinking a bit next time.

P.S. As we now have a civil service that basically does what it wants no matter who you vote for, politicians are now merely window dressing. If they play the game they get to stay in the shop window, if they don't they get undermined and forced out. No point discussing the marginal differences between Labour and the Tories (do you really think Labour will be much better?). The first priority should be to vote for people with the courage to rip the civil service a new one. If you're not willing to do that there's no point voting, we'll just get more never ending repackaged Blairism forever. Bombard the civil service with your complaints instead they're the ones deciding everything.

    December 17, 2023 at 9:02 pm

Mental Health. Everyone has it. No that's not me being flippant, it's the very Media Go-To Explanation that eventually seeps into every topic on every career or lifestyle choice. Nurse – mental health., Teacher – mental health. – Police officer – mental health. Sports star – mental health. Actor – mental health. Sexuality – mental health. Fashion model – mental health.
We all of us understand, life is tough. But if we all suffer from mental health issues then its an endemic stress that defines us as human. We won't escape it – ever. So an excuse? It can't be.
BTW, how come the life and stresses of a Production Line operative is rarely discussed in the media, rarely looked into in documentaries, rarely an issue in a movie. Oh throw in a shelf stacker. Little lives, little money so….probably no mental health issues.
Sorry for interrupting. Back to Lord Cameron.

The question is fundamentally flawed, and shows TLDRs biases on full display.
Because Cameron was appointed does not mean that everyone is devoid of talented individuals who could take this role.
It's a non sequitur, it would be like someone asking "Is TLDR's biasas a result of them being paid shills by the labour party?" There may be many reasons why TLDR are biased in their reporting but they are most likely not paid opposition.
Similarly the most likely reason why Rishi appointed Cameron is because they are freinds from working together before and the rest of the conservatives do not support him rather than all of them being incompetent in some way.

I have been referring to them as the z-z-z-listers for a while now.

Also, the pig sh*gger is not "Center". How may dead from his austerity lie? 150,000? Who accelerated NHS privatisation? Who started the grand theft of your money? Cameron is not centrist

  42. @Croz89

    December 17, 2023 at 9:02 pm

In a way the job of MP's and cabinet ministers is really split between the debate and rhetoric of parliament and the more technical work of drafting legislation and sorting out all kinds of procedural issues. Some are good at the former, others are good at the latter, but it's very rare that someone is good at both.

  46. @berserkirclaws107

    December 17, 2023 at 9:02 pm

Politic do not attract the best people for the job but people who have a specific mind frame created by the system itself.
The only way to change that is to reform the system but the only people able to do so are the ones who benefit from it therefore it's going to be extremely hard to modify anything.
