Can we get an update on what the EU's attitude is? I get the impression they are like: whatever, let's just get this over-with.

Four votes four defeats, What a start. Even his brother has had enough of him and left.

But what on earth is the point of having a general election, regarding Brexit? The huge problems of Brexit will still be the same on the day after the election as they were the day before! We will still have to negotiate with an EU that doesn’t want us to leave in the first place! Only one thing is certain now in the House of Commons – Boris Johnson, as suspected, is manifestly totally unfit to be Prime Minister.

And two days later the Conservatives have no majority at all. Even before Monday's vote they lost it with one MP defecting to Lib/Dem and yesterday they deselected 21 rebel MPs.

I very much do not like the live sections in recent videos – the most distinctive aspect of your brand was the consistent animation and graphics along with what sounded like a neutral voice reporting the content of day and the needed explanations. The live segments may be faster but they have me distrust your content, and I now hear your voice as an opinion instead of neutral — this was especially impacted when I saw some of your tee-shirts. Speed or efficiency is never worth breaking the brand if the new version of the brand it essentially creates does not have the strategic competitive advantage.

I think the bits where you talk to camera would feel a lot more natural to watch if you used a different kind of microphone, and maybe let in a little room noise? I feel like voiceover audio and vlog audio should be different to one another.

Guess who's turning 18 before the 14th October

  21. @rtee4086

    January 6, 2024 at 6:34 pm

these Remainers mp's want to get the job of reversing Brexit done, before agreeing to have a general
election, if Boris Johnson put a motion before mp's asking them to vote for a general election for the
    14 or 15th October 2019,

that proves he is willing to let the electorate decide, if the Remainers and opposition refuse to let the
electorate decide after clamouring for just that, this only proves my suspicion that they want to keep
the Brexit debate among themselves within Westminster well away from the proles until the reversal
    is done and dusted,

if there are any chlorinated chickens in Britain, they are in our parliament, Brexit was never these mp's
decision to change, in all true democracies politicians don't get to choose which votes they respect.

  22. @josephwhiting5697

    January 6, 2024 at 6:34 pm

Question for TLDR news: If Johnson can’t get 2/3’s can he call a confidence vote he purposefully loses to trigger an election?

  23. @exantiuse497

    January 6, 2024 at 6:34 pm

A general election is not likely to happen. Corbyn might be a fool, but he isn't a moron, and agreeing to the general election would be the stupidest thing for him to do at this point.

If the Parliament votes in favour of general election it also gives the Prime Minister free hands to decide the date withing a certain timeframe. And what date will Johnson choose? The 1st of November, of course, the day after Brexit. Since the Parliament will be dissolved after a snap election has been agreed upon, that will be no-deal Brexit. So if Labour votes in favour of general election it will have failed to prevent no-deal, demolishing its chances at winning the election, AND Johnson will have delivered Brexit as he promised, increasing his popularity before the full effects of no-deal become apparent. In short, general election before extension to Brexit deadline has been secured guarantees a Tory government with a strong majority for the next 5 years. Nobody is dumb enough to hand him that. Not even Corbyn

It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.
