"I know how we'll win back the electorate – we'll DOUBLE DOWN on ruining the country for those that come after!"

To think people actually imagined this Tory would be less of a weasel than the last.

brilliant money saving move for the working class, swapping out a landlord cash burden of upgrading to more efficient boilers for a higher gas burden on the poor.

thank god for sunak scrapping the meat tax that never existed and not giving us more recycling bins when everything is increasingly wrapped in cardboard and plastic.

But wasn't it the Tory treasury that demanded TfL expand it's ULEZ zone anyway? They made it a condition for an increase in funding for London. They can't demand it in one breath and criticise it in another, despite how convenient it is politically. How incredibly two-faced.

I welcome Sunaks adjustments on net zero. If Labour plan to reverse it, they will make the vote easy for me.

Although I AM glad that as a landlord I don't have to replace the new boilers or paying through my nose for a planing permission for like for like, looking, giant windows all at once in a conservation area as there is no way I could afford it at the current interest rates and inflation (Replacing just ONE costs £5000, but last year I made exactly £0 profit) but this U-turn by Sunak does NOT make me vote for him!

well as the Uk emits less than, what, 1% of harmful gasses what ever we do will make no difference to global warming, so why put an extra burden on the UK public for being a 'global leader' it just a waste of time and money

  25. @ryanmcdonald977

British people are pragmatic but not stupid. Rishi Sunak is clearly panicking and making a fool of himself in the process. As we get closer to 2050 or just generally as time moves forwards more people will be more agitated or angry that we are not moving closer quick enough, or that government continues to say a lot and do little. I had high expectations for the UK's first non-white and Hindu PM, sadly he is as corrupt and self-serving as the majority of Tories and rich people. Kindly call a general election and then bog off when you loose. But given how selfish and self-centered he is, we will have to put up with his ego for a long while.
