It seems pretty much a certainty that Andy Burnham will be the next British prime minister. Exactly when it happens depends on a few factors. We outline some of the reasons an early general election is likely.

Simple, the Conservatives are the shite party with no moral compass and even shitter leaders with extra shit with a package that includes destroying the country and making a lettuce PM, The Labours are the less shite party but still shite, with policies that could have hope but because of voters they follow the shite parties policies more which makes them "Shit lite", Labour also at-least has a few competent leaders than Conservatives have had in 13 years, with a modicum of integrity and political instincts better than the shite party combined.

"realatively right wing social issues"
Yeah, that's why Sunak, who is said to be right wing, has banned anti-abortion protests, which is more extreme than anything a left-wing in any other country would do.
"Starmer made a point of no wading into a culture war"
Yeah, that's why he said that some women have penises.

The vlog fails to acknowledge the Tories tactic of it's constant use of seeking out 'wedge' issues, many of which are actually long term Tory policy and / or law even IF unpopular with the right of the Cons parliamentary party. Clean Air policies in cities being one recent example.
The Tories will happily welch on their policies if they see a short term opportunity to drive a wedge between what the Tories say (i.e. not do) and the opposition especially where the 'opposition' is presently an elected power. Starmer has consistently avoided being drawn into the gap the Tory wedge attempts are seeking to create thus becoming an easy target from the flanks of the Tories at the GE campaign AND elected Labour power bases complying with the law as is their duty. The latter something the current Government has had repeated difficulties doing.
Starmer will have to come off the fence during the GE campaign but when he does the regurgitated scattergun attack approach the Tories will be left with will have reduced impact while Labour must by then have a clear and distinct offer which provides clarity on the current vague messaging, drowning out the noise from the blue side.
Starmer and the Lab PLP deserves credit for NOT dancing to the current Sunak tune, much to the Tories annoyance while continuing to land blows on the regular Tory failures and their consequences to us all. Lab just need to be clear how that will change.

@TiaanKruger
December 19, 2023 at 12:36 am
most of the big items I think they will only release close to the election.
this either gives the opposition less time to come up with a response or forces them to prepare a lot of counterarguments to things that might never come up.
either is good for the party that only announces it closer to the time.
And this will be especially true with the 2 being closer in terms of alignment (compared to say Corbyn and Boris, which had very big differences, and it was obvious where they would go with policies)
I do hope that Labour will end up supporting proportional representation (I think it should be a mixed system, not pure proportional representation, but that is a totally different discussion).
but again, I think that IF they were to support it, they would only announce it close to the election

I wouldn't say refusing to describe a woman is a sign that Starmer's not a progressive. It's an implicit concession that there's ambiguity around the concept.

There is no difference between the two parties and I doubt it will change during the election.
Labour is actually a more racist party when it comes to anti-blackness and Islamophobia.
Produce there own enquiry race report and choosers ignore it because they didn’t like the outcome.
