Sun Tea; put one green tea bag and one herbal mint tea bag into a one quart mason jar, fill with cold filtered water, and leave in a sunny spot for four hours. Remove the tea bags, sweeten to taste, and serve over ice. The perfect summer afternoon tea.

Speaking of science and tea, here's a troubling fact.

Science and research revolves around statistics and numbers, a highly emphasised one being the "p-value". This refers to the probability of obtaining the observed results of a test, assuming that the null hypothesis is correct. Most researchers generally accept a cut-off of p=.05. Basically, they're satisfied if the numbers indicate there to be a 95% probability that their results aren't a matter of chance.

This cut-off of p=.05 is really quite arbitrary, and was inspired by Muriel Bristol's ability to tell if a cup of tea was made with the milk poured in before the tea, or after. So that's something else that came out from Britain.

When I went to England for the first time I thought I was going to the magical wonderland of tea. So I went into a Cafe, wondering why everyone was drinking coffee. I asked what kinds of tea they have. The guy said "What do you mean, we have tea, do you want tea or not?". So I looked for a tea shop but couldnt find any. So I went into a supermarket and asked where the tea filters are. The guy said "What are tea filters?". So I said "The little paper bags for putting your loose tea in". He replied "What do you mean loose tea? The tea bags are right over there". So in my oppinion, if you are a tea enthusiast, dont bother going to England.

    January 5, 2024 at 8:57 am

What lies!!! Tea didn't came from UK… Be geeky, not colonizers. It's introduced to Europeans by Portuguese, not even British. Also in China people have been having tea forever, even before the Jesus came. What Britain did, was to commercialize the crop using forced contracts upon farmers in India so that they could finish the monopoly of China. You'll started drinking tea just in seventeenth century.

Idiots. That's not how you make tea. That was chai. Tea should be made without milk and using real bloody tea leaves, not these packed ones. Ah for fucks sake, these days we Calcuttans are more British than you guys are. sigh
