2:40 You slightly misrepresent the repeal of the FTPA here, before the FTPA it was entirely up to when the PM when an election could be called (ie. they could have terms as long as they liked), now the act that repealed FTPA also includes a provision that automatically dissolves parliament after 5 years, forcing the PM to call an election. So most of the provisions of FTPA are still there, it's just that the power of calling the election moved back to the PM.

Come on though, nobody who voted Tory actually wanted anything that was promised Net-Zero-wise to actually happen lol

Headlines with a question mark are almost always answered with "No".

I wish snap elections were just politicians playing snap to decide who was in charge

My vote goes to Reform UK

I would love it if tldr made a video in which they just said "no" and end fill the rest with empty space.

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

The banking mafia would never allow Sunak to call an election unless they knew they could fix it.

  8. @_pine_cone_4225

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

This next election will be devastating for the tories regardless of wether they win. If the tories win they will have to deal with the fact that their election winning policies have alienated younger voters.

LETS HAVE A GENERAL ELECTION. NOW. SAP.

  11. @Andrew-tx9jy

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

Sunak was second choice even amongst his own party. The man who lost to a woman who herself got beat by a lettuce, pathetic.

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

I doubt the Tories will call an election this year. Dying reptiles can crawl for miles before they expire. This lot have been in their death throws since Brexit

  13. @tenniskinsella7768

No i bloody hope not cant stand labour never rishi is now doing things people approve of so maybe by the time theres an election people will not vote for more ties with europe more immigrstion ie open borders i dont trust starmer at all

  15. @flanflanjp_

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

The only hope conservatives have are switching to Mogg with Boris' platform before the election

  16. @MrBenoo08

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

the answer is no, he wont. He has a plan to rile up the peasants by telling them that labour wants everyone to be called ze/zim and have 14 bins. saddest part is that it is working

  18. @edmundoftheangles7977

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

I think it is a bit of a strange claim to think that people voted conservative because of net zero commitments. Study after study shows that once net zero is explained topeople they dont want it

  22. @bugleboop

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

He wouldn’t because with his record in democratic process he’d lose. I’m still amazed how he can talk about democracy when no one voted for him and hunt along with all these terrible policies and he is the biggest reason for inflation

  23. @Evan.280

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

Green policy is such bullshit. All it does is tax the hell out of people for no reason and wants to ruin driving normal cars. The Conservaties deserve to lose for failing time and again in the last few years. (I'm an American btw) But I will vote for anyone whos against climate doomerism, green policy, and who can call out the nonsense that is zero emissions

  24. @TheFreemanuk

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

If his Chinese bosses order it , yes.

  25. @Will0398

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

It’s important to know that regardless of party, you can’t run as something you’re not. Starmer can’t only point out Sunak and the conservatives’ problems (many as there are) while not offering anything of substance himself.

  26. @edsiebert5986

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

people don't know what Starmer stands for as he doesn't stand for ANYTHING. I cannot and will not vote for the Starmer labour party….at least where I live the Green candidate stands a good chance so feel I can effectively vote for someone other than labour. If Labour were actually left wing in politics I may think differently.

  27. @simonwilliams567

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

They are most definitely in electioneering mode, though as the change in tone and policy announcements are not having an positive affect in the polls it may deter them, might be best if you get polled to say you'll vote Tory to encourage them to call a SNAP!!!

  28. @frankhooper7871

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

Very first sentence in the video is incorrect. The UK doesn't elect anyone as Prime Minister – we elect our members of parliament. The only people who elected Boris Johnson were those living in his constituency.

  29. @waerlogauk

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

You didn't mention that the ULEZ expansion was a Tori policy forced on the mayor, though I suspect he was in favour of it.

  30. @bizarresportynerd6136

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

One of the things I will respect boris for is actually being consistent with pushing green initiatives which actually benefit our children and grand children

But i still won’t ever vote conservative after the last 13years

  31. @napoleonibonaparte7198

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

Sunak is extrapolating too much from one data source, that one bye-election in London…

  32. @ChrisPepper1989

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

Perhaps we should all start pretending that we like the conservatives, to push up their polling so that sunak will finallu end this nonsense

I don’t think sunak will go to polls early as he got no chance of winning . Both parties are basically same thing an empty vessel void of any decent arguments or anyone who is beyond incompetent. All politicians today are less than there forebares

  42. @jeffsmith3392

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

No chance. Due to the cost of living crisis the election will go to the term limit.

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

I personally hope NOT! I have been putting in a lot of calls over some sites for General Election in February or March of next year. I'm not a Conservative Party supporter – I haven't been that for just over 4 years! I just want those twits to sort themselves out and come up with sensible policies. My patience is wearing thin. I expect the announcement for that to be in November or December of this year. And the General Election campaign to start up in mid January of next year! I believe that Sunak's going to tough it out for now! I don't see an snap election announcement for this year! It would be unwise now because many will see it as a cop out! I'll summarily vote Liberal Democrat if that happens! I believe that a lot of people will !

  48. @YuruCampSupermacy

    December 18, 2023 at 12:22 pm

As an indian i always thought that every country had an election commission that would decide when to call the election. Leaving the decision in the hands of the incumbent sounds silly

UK's economy is in the dumpster. The second largest city, Birmingham, went bankrupt with more cities to follow. UK is now known throughout the world as a sick man of Europe.
