My ‘smart drugs’ nightmare – BBC News
So-called “smart drugs” are drugs that can supposedly enhance your cognitive abilities. People all over the world are taking them in universities, offices and the comfort of their own home – to get ahead of the game. One drug, Modafinil – is amongst the most popular. It was labelled in August 2015 as the world’s first “safe” smart drug – off the back of research from Harvard and Oxford University. But is this true? And do “smart drugs” actually work? In this film, our reporter Benjamin Zand tries a drug himself – as he takes a first-hand look inside the world of so-called smart drugs.

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.
It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.
Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Modafinil always made me want to smoke more while on it, and also drink in the evening to attempt to wind down from it’s effects before bedtime. The smell of your urine when on modafinil is also disgusting and makes you wonder what it’s doing to your kidneys. Since quitting modafinil I have also quit smoking, and my circadian rhythm has also improved. Taking drugs is never *smart*.

Better than any drug is getting your body to prioritize fat as the primary fuel source instead of carbs. Those ketons boost your cognitive capabilites much more than any drug ever can.

If you already have trouble going to sleep, and you want to take modafinil, let your doctor know that you are a light sleeper and you would like something to help you sleep just in case. I take 200mg of modafinil every day and 30mg of remeron at night and it’s a perfect combo for me. I wake up and hop right out of bed feeling great even with only 4 hours of sleep.

You have these side effects if the dose is high. I took 100mg which is half of the pill and I couldn't function due to extreme headache. I then reduce it to 50mg (1/4) of thr pill. Headache gone. I am alert, productive and more brave. I agree with lack of appetite and now abserve myself that i dont have much libodo either. Not sure if anyone else has the similar symptoms

Dude, don’t ever try these chemicals for 2 reasons; 1. Our world is not about how hard you work, it’s about how your mind naturally perceives or is creative. 2. Our modern day pharma does not disclose enough about chemicals and bio elements and their interaction in our bodies. Until we basically know which nutritional elements, when, how, duration, affect our bodies appropriately, only then we can come up with something that is or will enable us to optimize from that benchmark ! What I am saying is that we don’t even have a benchmark, lsd, thc, other drugs are all experimental. Essentially people take small dosages just to be able to cognitive comparison, which creates sort of byproduct mindfulness or awareness, but these (mindfulness, awareness and meditation) should be practiced intentionally.

He should have probably taken lower doses, micro dosing usually has even greater effect than a full dose, I usually take 50mg in the morning, that's 1/4 of my regular 200mg pills, if the day is very demanding with many tasks I'll take another 50 mg after around 4 to 5 hours, as people take 200 mg all in one go, I for sure know I don't have any risk involved when taking my second 50mg later on

If you take Moda and don't actually go into it while working on something and it kicks in, it won't help with anything.
If you take it be prepared and ready with all the work materials you need in front of you, if you're scrolling on your phone when it kicks in, well you're stuck on the phone for hours going into different topics that have nothing to do with what you took it for.
This video is misleading to some extent, you're gonna be more awake but it's not a miracle pill, the pill is not the one making you do sometime, it just makes the tasks pass by easier in a way
Also I'm on my 40th hour of no sleep, so it clearly works as an awake pill, but I'm on this video instead of doing any productive work since I'm actively chosing to not do so, instead just reaching topics online for semi education and mostly entertainment

Modafinil gave me the most excruciating headache. I felt like belt Was wrapped around my head and squeezed it. Nothing helped until it wore off. Dangerous stuff for me

It does make you feel good with a open mind /wakefulness. I have no sides what so ever from it and I take half 50mg tablet once a week
