I hate to say that the only thing that bums me out about this video is knowing that prince William DEFINITELY flew to singapore, on a private jet, with probably more carbon emission in that one flight than some of those working on the ground for some of these projects will use in countless years..

I am Indian and I am proud for the award winning person as a world known persona
    🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations to all the winners 🏆❤

I find it interesting how the winners were mostly from non white parts of the world like India for example, or countries that suffer the most from things like excess waste, unclean air and lack of food. If Europe and America had these issues I'm certain these problems would have been solved much faster but because we have relatively clean air, no problem with throwing our waste somewhere else (and making it someone else's problem) and no lack of food we just don't do anything about it other than give money to some charities in an attempt to pretend we care.

Earth shot does so much good and it’s only going to grow. Thank you sorted food for communicating that sustainability means not only taking care of ourselves but the environment from which we need.

The climate crisis isn’t about ‘finding solutions’ to some kind of technical problem. This is a really irresponsible way to frame the issues that these initiatives look to address. We know the solutions already: consume less and move away from infinite growth economic models. The climate crisis is a product of politics and culture (a culture of consumption specifically). I don’t mean to demean the good work these people do, but framing this as a problem that requires technical innovation and not political and cultural upheaval is simply incorrect.

I think Jamie actually had the most insightful input from anyone who spoke in this video. Consume less – but not just individually, systemically too.

This kinda won't change the status quo until we found effective transportation system and the like. Positivity can only do so much

Singapore is a wierd place to have this event, as it feels like most if not all had to fly there. Not very Eco friendly way to travel.

Something I really appreciate about Sorted is that they focus on simple solutions. Earthshot is looking at technological advances and applications, which are important of course, but I think they get an outsized amount of attention and funding.

It’s a bit like the solutions to covid—of course we needed vaccines, but Australia showed that we could manage the problem pretty well with public health measures: masking, improving indoor air flow, and staying home when sick.

Technologies are flashy and fancy and get great marketing. They offer solutions that seem easier because they may allow us to maintain familiar lifestyles.

But when it comes to climate change, they aren’t enough, just like vaccines aren’t enough to prevent covid deaths. We have to make lifestyle changes. The lovely thing about lifestyle changes is that they offer improvements to our quality of life across multiple areas,

Sidekick is a beautiful example of this! Reduce food waste, reduce costs, and improve health measures. It can be easy to despair and feel as though an individual reducing food waste just isn’t making enough of a difference, but realistically, you’re not just reducing food waste, you’re reducing your impact on healthcare, you’re reducing the money you give to supermarkets / corporations. You can redirect that money to other, more beneficial places.

This is turning into an essay so I will stop here, but I encourage people to sign up to Sidekick. The boys bang on about it, but it’s worth banging on about! It really is a game changer.

as someone who is strongly against "green future" narative, i can say – if all the push was the same way as you guys doing – i would be on bord. its not about the goal, its about the delivery. im happy you guys are touching hearts of people who were against for so long, such as mine <3

I have to admit, I can't help but feel that having this big celebration in Singapore with actors and music stars is a bit wasteful and even self-congratulatory. That said, giving millions to environmental causes is good, so it's tough to complain too much

This is an “Oscar’s” ceremony I’m happy and excited to see more of. I hope that very soon, this is celebrated and even more widely known than the entertainment version. I love movies and appreciate the work involved but this is something that will change the world for the better, something to save the earth and inspire everyone.

It is SO hard to feel hopeful when everything feels so grim. Especially as someone with existential dread on top of everything else I have to deal with. Thank you for highlighting this in a positive way.

    Beautiful message. Beautiful video.

The shift to all things green is purely about money.
