Epstein alleged Trump ‘spent hours’ with one of his victims, in email released by Dems | BBC News

Published

on

A committee of lawmakers in the US have released over 20,000 pages of documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, including some that reference US President Donald Trump.

One is an email exchange dated April 2011 from Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in 2019, to his associate Ghislaine Maxwell and reads “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him”.

The Democrats say the emails “strike a blow against the White House’s Epstein cover-up”.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and the White House said the release of the three email exchanges creates a “fake narrative”.

The White House also says the “victim” referenced in the Epstein-Maxwell emails is “the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever.

Justin’s been speaking to Hasan Piker about comments he’s made in the past which are now being used by Republicans on the campaign trail.

And with less than two weeks to go, the race for the state’s open seat is close, and could help decide who controls the US Senate. Sarah’s there and joins Justin and Marianna to discuss the final debate between the Democratic and Republican candidates in Michigan, and whether Democrats can win back voters who backed Donald Trump in 2024.

It took artificial intelligence (AI) to bring them to light and caused a global cyber-security alert.

Prince William leads tributes to Sir Kevin Sinfield in new BBC documentary | BBC News

Published

on

Prince William has told the BBC that awarding Sir Kevin Sinfield his knighthood was “probably the easiest decision that anyone’s ever had to make”.

The Prince of Wales leads the tributes to the inspirational former Rugby League player who has raised £13 millions of pounds over seven years for motor neurone disease (MND) charities.

In 2020, Sinfield went for a run after his friend and teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

He aimed to raise £77,777 for Rob and his family, a sum set to recognise Burrow’s number seven shirt. But just a week later, he had raised more than £2 million. It was the first of seven astonishing challenges over the next six years, which included seven ultramarathons in seven days and 101 miles in 24 hours.

The end of data centres? Apple and Meta’s bet against the cloud | AI Decoded

Published

on

AI Decoded looks at the surprising alliance between Meta and Apple raises one of the biggest questions facing the AI industry. As technology companies invest hundreds of billions into ever-larger data centres, two former Silicon Valley rivals are backing a different vision: powerful AI models that can run locally on advanced desktop computers rather than relying entirely on the cloud.

For years, bigger AI has meant bigger infrastructure. Vast data centres now consume enormous amounts of energy, water and land, while communities around the world are increasingly pushing back against their expansion. But what if there was another way? What if businesses could run powerful AI systems from their own offices, on machines sitting beneath their desks?

Host Marc Cieslak is joined by Ben Hatton, consumer technology specialist and Nate Soares, AI safety researcher and author, for a fascinating discussion on whether Apple’s hardware and Meta’s open-weight AI strategy could signal a major shift in the future of computing.
