Over the weekend, OpenDemocracy published a report describing how recent Tory treasurers who have donated £3 Million to the party are invariably given a peerage in the House of Lords. So in this video, we take a look at the contents of the report, why this has caused an uproar, and the implications for the government and politics as a whole.

it may do them short term polling harm but very much invigorate the donor programe, likely to dissuade from having their golden goose solution be taken away they will lower prices and include more services rather than just raw money to be donated likely leading to getting better leverage again because all politicians are dirty.

Obviously something needs to be done, i would very much want to see something like a open public finances of all political parties compulsorily updated each month, maybe even all individuals to close that loophole.Or some much smarter solution i am just annoyed at the garbage governing people and can not really step up to think in dirty enough manner to come up with solution that is strong enough deterent because the thives (or politicians) are clever scumbags that do not steal in small batches but take the money by their thousands.

The word Tory originates from Gaelic to describe an outlaw, or a robber that is noted for outrages and cruelty.
However, because Conservatives assumed the name it has also been rebranded to suggest that the word originated from the Irish word toir, meaning to give, grant and bestow – clearly to their own.
I leave it to you to decide which version is appropriate.

There even taxi in illigals into Dover and raising tax to cover the costs. If you need to go in care you must sell your home to cover the costs etc, etc, all lies are there to see and the anger is such that coming Election time all lied too will cast there votes to Reform UK to fix the mess the Con Party betrayers have done and doing.

  30. @tt-ew7rx

    December 27, 2023 at 4:08 pm

"All political parties do this" – if true then the governing party must shoulder the main responsibility because they are governing the country and creating/maintaining this state of affairs. The same was true when we had the cash for honours thing under Tony Blair, Blair eventually declared that the puck stopped with him and did not make the point that the opposition parties were also involved. Then Blair immediately ran away to become one of the most senior diplomats in the world and the police investigation ended on that move 😉 But at least it has been normally accepted that "all parties do this" in no way absolves the government of being the main responsible party.

  38. @dehn6581

    December 27, 2023 at 4:08 pm

Not surprising. I think, like hereditary peers, there needs to be a limit put on political party peers. Looking at the life peers list, that political party peers vastly outnumber other types pretty much every year is ridiculous and an obvious sign of corruption. With an unelected House of Lords, it should balance the Commons with knowledgeable people across many fields to screen legislation , not be an party retirement fun for their mates happy to hand over money for influence.

  39. @SekhCadell

    December 27, 2023 at 4:08 pm
