Shopify’s 2023 Commerce Trends report suggests eCommerce will continue to evolve as a shopping channel of choice for consumers this year, following rapid adoption during the pandemic.
In fact, thanks to extended lockdowns, online shopping jumped 77 per cent year-on-year, accelerating the adoption of digital commerce by 5 years.
Around the world, new shoppers entered the eCommerce market for the very first time and, even though growth has now slowed, there’s still plenty of momentum. eCommerce is projected to generate $146 billion in sales in 2023 alone.
