Joe Biden hopes for ceasefire in Israel-Gaza war by next week | BBC News
US President Joe Biden said he hopes to have a ceasefire “by next Monday” in the Israel-Gaza war.
It comes as negotiations involving Israel and Hamas representatives in Qatar have reportedly seen some progress reached.
But, while the US State Department said that there had been progress made in negotiations to release Israeli hostages, it remained unclear whether Hamas would accept the latest proposed deal.
Meanwhile, Israel said its forces are preparing to go into Rafah to attack Hamas fighters there.
