on

President Zelensky has issued a rallying cry to people in Ukraine as the country marks the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Speaking from Hostomel, Zelensky urged his country to keep fighting and said Russia could not destroy Ukrainian dreams.

He was joined by four Western leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who praised Kyiv’s forces’ courage that “stood in Putin’s way”.

It comes after Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities continued overnight, with four deaths reported across the country.

Eight people have been killed and hundreds injured in protests in the occupied West Bank.

The number of Palestinians killed in confrontations with Israelis this year, in the area, is already more than 70 – the highest figure in five years.

The BBC’s Middle East Correspondent, Yolande Knell reports.

At least 734 people have died and more than 2,400 people are missing in Nepal, local officials say, after flash floods on Wednesday, triggered by a glacier collapse.

In Tibet, the official death toll is 16, with 546 reported to be missing, according to Chinese state media.

Nearly 20,000 security forces are deployed in rescue efforts on the Nepal-Tibet border as the UN says rough terrain and rain is making aid delivery “extremely difficult”.
