Re blenders, it is not always the wattage that is important, though it is: but torque is also important. Especially when one is making nut butters or anything similarly thick. Btw, I'll stick with my Vitamix, thank you very much.

We use the blender for smoothies (of course), but ALSO to make refried beans!

The biggest difference between cheap and expensive induction hobs is how they maintain heat. Cheap ones just turn on/off and can/do warp pans because their full power is just too much for most pans to handle, more expensive induction hobs have far better temperature control.

Blenders, how well will it clean in the dishwasher. Mine's been in the cupboard for 15 years since the blender jug isn't dishwasher-safe.

At what stage in anyone’s life does a £300 coffee machine seem like an appropriate investment when there’s so many cheaper alternatives on the market that do the same job and will be just as good? Even further still why don’t people just buy a cheap kettle and make the sacrifice of using the minimal effort required to make a cup of coffee instead of outsourcing it to a machine?

I have a regular drip, a french press, an aeropress (which i lose everytime my wife and sister go camping, because they laughed at me for bringing it with me, until they dropped the glass for the french press into the fire pit on the first morning. lol) a manual and automatic coffee grinder, and a gas stove so i can always heat water if hydro goes out, as well as a rancillio silva espresso machine. Which you don't normally see in a house, but it was a good price, so yeah. I picked it up when i found it for 60$ canadian. Lol

You guys could really benefit from having a real coffee professional on the show. Of all the things you guys ever mess up, coffee is right at the top of the list. From brewing, grinding to tasting, I think you guys are definitely lacking in some fairly straight forward coffee education. It might be difficult, but if you could get the interest of someone like Lance Hedrick or James Hoffman I think you'd have a great guest that would not only help you guys learn coffee better, but they'd both bring an additional large audience to your pages attention.

I'd really like to see the Sage Control Freak tested out. The price would shock but the results equally are shocking. I own one for my home cooking and love it.

Love your videos guys.. But.. With all due respect you should not be reviewing coffee. Get James Hoffman on your channel please..

I have the Ninja Foodi blender and it's great for anyone who makes a lot of soup/sauces.

The most work you'll do is quartering the onion after peeling it.

I made a creamy chicken enchilada soup the other day, and did have to dice the chicken breast, but after that, I just dumped/cooked them in the blender

I've had mine for 3 years now and it's still going strong. Parts are easy to get, as well.

  17. @ZombiSlayer17

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

I got a Ninja Pro Blender on sale for 50 bucks and I think it's the perfect in between for the blenders. It's normally 75 though, so maybe wait until Black Friday. It does an amazing job for smoothies.

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

If you’re gonna do an espresso comparison you need to do it correctly. I’m 99% sure you used pre-ground coffee that’s been sitting on a supermarket shelf for three months and you didn’t measure or tamp it correctly.

  19. @JoannaHammond

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

The problem with induction is you REALLY get what you pay for. The cheaper ones are slow pulsed so you get massive heat, no heat (basically boil no boil.) The more expensive vary the power so you can get a true simmer if you want.

  20. @thaddeusstevens1344

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

Moka pots don't make espresso, they make regular coffee with fake crema.

Come on, if you're going to do a comparison to high end do Vitamix blenders comparing to the Ninja and the Brevill Polyscience Control Freak hob compared to the Hestan Cue

Can I just say, I LOVE that you guys are reviewing Ninja Foodi in this episode! I love Ninja Foodi products I currently own a Multi cooker and I am so damn in love with this thing.. it's built to last! (I highly recommend spending some time with any Ninja Foodi product only because while it is a learning curb to begin with, the more you get used to it the easier it becomes to use. You can litterally plot stuff into a Ninja and it'll do most (70 to 90 percent of the work) for you. With that said, it IS a learning curb. But one that will have you throwing out most of the utensils you have in your kitchen that Ninja products does.

I'm going to put out a challenge here. I'd love to see you guys make a 'Basics' recipes in a Ninja Foodi multi cooker. (Would love to make a steak, mash potato and 3 veg dinner in one). Recipes like Roasted potato, Beef, pumpkin and mixed veg… etc. I've seen people do a lot of fancy stuff in Ninja Foodi products, but I've yet to see anyone post anything about basic home cooking recipes.

PS. Once you get hooked on Ninja Foodi products its really really hard to not go out and buy a bigger version or other products of Ninja Foodi. Its one of those products that at first you can't help but think "i messed up", but then the more you use it the more its like "where have you been all my life?", kind of deal. Ninja Foodi is backed by its quality and its multi functions. It will literally save you space in your cupboards.

Something I found out that's worth taking note of is that you should be very careful & cook at arms length [60cm (2ft) ]if using an induction cooker if you have a pacemaker. The induction hob creates strong magnetic fields that can cause serious problems with your pacemaker. The more powerful the hob or number being used make it worse.

  29. @FleaChristenson

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

The philips blender will die much sooner. The sturdier blender should last much longer and should be worth the investment. It does a lot and makes for a smoother blend consistently. Granted, I have a vita mix. Have had for about ten years and wouldn’t trade it. I probably went through five blenders in the 20 years prior and wasn’t happy with any of them.

i would have liked to know about the power consumption of those 2 induction hubs

  32. @koholos

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

I usually find that the $50-60 range is usually where I wind up. One step up from budget, enough power and options to get me through. But I’m not usually going to use it enough or skillfully to be worth buying the $100+ item.

  33. @OwlCMedicine

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

I found a Ninja Foodie blender on clearance for $35 USD!! I like it

Not a kitchen gadg, but Jamie should do the tests in line and try a set of Enchroma glasses.

Ronson made the Cook N-Stir blender in the sixties and seventies–and it wasn't knocked out in China…much higher quality.

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

That sage machine is easily 10 times better than the swan

  38. @geoslim2168

I live in a basement that has a kitchen area that is basically a stainless sink and a small counter. I have no stove or oven instead I have the same IKEA induction stove that takes up about 1/3 of my counter space and an air fryer oven. I also have a fridge that no longer works. Been using the stove for nearly a year but only to make pasta, ramen, and rice. A tip for telling if your pots and pans will work with an induction cook top is see if a magnet will stick to the bottom, if yes then they will work.

Food processors and stand mixers please! ☺️

  40. @Chidderationss

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

so I own 2 ikea induction hobs and have done for about 2 years now, and i can wholeheartly say they are still going stong and are fantastic with cast iron, i also use them for deep fat frying. the only thing i have a problem is that the "1" level doesn't really do anything besides keeping it on

  41. @emilyreich7548

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

Have the ninja blender, cleaning it is weird since the heating can't get wet but man it is amazing ❤

  42. @artysplash5969

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

20£ just for THAT?!?! Seriously, guys. That's just too OVERPRICED for a simple tiny blender. 149£ for that big blender+ too?!?! And I guess only because of the brand names. I have bought very cool food processor, but by not so hiped brand, great quality, with tones of automatic options and heads, that can do MUCH MORE than here you have with just this overpriced Ninja blender+, and of caurse this tiny Philips, and it costed me in pounds just 60£ in my country!!! And no, my brand is not from China, but from Switzerland!!! What the hell is going on with you prices in UK?!?! Tooooo way overpriced everything. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

  43. @ioan1934

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

I would like to see a comparison test for coffee pod machines, as these seem to be everywhere now and there are plenty available off all different price ranges. Thanks boys. Love the vids.

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

This is the first time I've ever heard of a smoothie bowl. I've only ever drank smoothies. Very strange to see a smoothie poured into a bowl.

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

My uncle has a £1000 one that grinds the beans in the machine

  46. @belongganisa6711

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

Those espresso shots look really depressing.

  47. @richard127gm

    December 22, 2023 at 4:49 pm

The problem with blenders, especially the cheaper ones, is that the blades never stay sharp.
