US says Israel to begin daily four-hour military pauses in Gaza – BBC News
The US says Israel will begin to implement four-hour military pauses in areas of northern Gaza each day to allow civilians to flee.
The Israeli military says there will be “tactical, local pauses for humanitarian aid” but “no ceasefire”.
Meanwhile, the Hamas-controlled health ministry in Gaza said Israel has carried out airstrikes on or near at least three hospitals.
Israel has confirmed its military is operating close to Al-Shifa, the biggest hospital in Gaza City.
Videos circulating on social media show what appears to be the aftermath of a missile or mortar striking the hospital courtyard.
The BBC has not been able to verify the incident and the Israeli military said it is looking into reports of a blast.

Nepal flood survivors are rescued from a tunnel and other top news stories | Global News Podcast
Rescue crews in Nepal have saved two workers from a blocked hydropower tunnel, nine days after they were trapped by debris from flash floods. An advisor to the rescue operation has describes it has “layer upon layer of layer of miracles”.
About 40 people are believed to still be trapped in the tunnel. Flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border last week has left almost 1,300 people dead, and more than 5,000 missing.

Gangs who illegally smuggle people to UK running low on small boats, investigation finds | BBC News
A BBC investigation has found criminal groups who illegally smuggle people to the UK across the English Channel are running low on small boats.
Gang members have told BBC sources that rival factions are now having to work together to load migrants on fewer, larger vessels. They’re also charging them more.
The number of crossings is currently at a six-year-low and UK ministers have credited the French police for intercepting more attempts.
The BBC’s Paris Correspondent James Waterhouse has looked at how the people smugglers are being forced to adapt.

Today the BBC reported that Israel is going to help save babies from Al Shifa hospital and other hospitals in Gaza. You made us feel so good by giving us hope that some children will he saved. Unfortunately when I flipped the channel to Al jazeera English news the story was exactly the opposite. They filmed bombings of every hospital in Gaza. Civilians taking shelter in the hospitals can't leave because they have been targeted and killed . Doctors can't do their jobs because the drones are bombing people who are going from building to building in the hospital complex. Tanks are surrounding all hospitals . Al jazeera has staff on ground in the middle of the war zone bringing the truth out while BBC news is located in Jerusalem and only seems to repeatedly say the Israeli fake news propaganda version of news .
