British physicist Brian Cox is challenged by the presenter of Radio 4’s ‘Life Scientific’, Jim Al-Khalili, to explain the rules of quantum mechanics in just a minute. Brian succeeds; while conceding that the idea that everything is inherently probabilistic, is challenging. Even Einstein found it difficult.

And who assigns these ambivalent measurements of these pathways of the electron that is in one corner and then probably will go to point B at some point in time, after it has gone to a different point B at another point in time?

Quanta are sub-atomic particles. Simple. Accepting their reality. Harder. Obviously every action and event at the gross physical level begins and ends with quantum particle activity. The difficulty is that these quanta don’t behave according to standard physics.
However since their gross equivalents do it doesn’t pose too many problems in day to day life.
Now: what renowned physicists like Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Dr John Hagelin and Dr. Deepak Chopra are saying is that because quanta are not subject to standard rules of physics they can be influenced by thought. This means behaviour patterns and interrelationships can be manoeuvred in desirable ways to improve the quality of life; allowing the values of pure consciousness to dominate the world of human activity.
To my mind what would be interesting to research is the way the functioning of quantum entanglements is expressed at the gross level. It’s here that there is enormous potential to improve the quality of life. If quantum entanglements can be demonstrated to be responsible for particular undesirable events at the gross level then it should be possible for thought to rectify such situations – given that there are people trained to think at that level of awareness
