    Nowroz is originated from Afghanistan
    🇦🇫.
The day of Nowroz has its origins in the religion of Zoroastrianism.
Zoroastrianism: originated in Central Asia in what is now modern day Afghanistan 🇦🇫, by a man called Zardosht or Zarathustra.

    It’s not originated from Iran.

Idk why BBC forgot Afghanistan 🤦🤦🤦💀💀💀

    Unbelievable.
It’s NOT Persian New Year! It’s “Iranian” and was celebrated up to ancient Aderbajan ( even though they got turkified in 11th century the still celebrate NewRoz).
And btw the oldest “Iranian” speaker of them all is KurManc Kurdish, not Farsi (“Persian”)

Here in Central Asia, such as my home country Uzbekistan, Navroʻz is the national holiday among both Persian speaking and non-persian people (i.e Uzbeks, Turkmens, Kazakhs and Kyrgyzs).

This clip misinforms: although NoErooz (not NoWrooz) marks first day of Iranian calendar, but Iran doesn't have 300 million population.
Noerooz is remnant of culture and traditions that prevailed in the area larger than current borders of Iran more than 2600 years ago. Dominant religion of that area tht stretched from current day Tajikistan, Afghanistan and western Pakistan to current day Turkey and Iraq was Zoroastrianism. Although current day Iran occupies most of that vast stretch, but of the 300mllion people who this clip states celebrate Noerooz, only 80+ million live in Iran, and majority live in other countries.

Noerooz, as a non religious and non national/sectarian celebration has its roots in pagan traditions and is celebrated by people from all that vast geographic area. So it is not just "Iranian new year" but also celebrated as beginning of a new year by 220 million non-Iranians including Kurds, Turks of Eastern Anatolia and Azerbaijan, Afghans, Tajiks, and many central Asian people, and their diaspoa around the world.
May Noerooz usher in a year of peace, health, and happiness for all people of the world.

To people wo said words like kurds celebrate so its not persian:
Other races from the same region or same culture(indians) celebrating it doesnt change the fact that its a persian festival
Cause American speaks english doesnt make a language any less english and its just the same

BBC get the fact right, the is another country called Afghanistan also using the Nowroz as their strat of the calendar and celebrate it. But your presenter in the video saying " its the strat of Iranian calendar " you always far fetch from the fact checking.

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
