The Online Safety Bill continues to make its way through the Parliament. Although it is aimed at improving internet safety, some parts are highly controversial, raising concerns about privacy and encryption. Some tech companies have heavily criticised the bill, threatening to withdraw services – but the government does not seem to budge.

vpns outside the uk will not be affected as the law only alplies to english law they cannot force it worldwide so ie cyberghost may have to remove there uk servers but not the country it opperates from the only way would be to ban the cyberghoat app its self like the great firewall of china but even they still use cyberghost , they need keys to decrypt any form of encryption and if the company refuses that key theres nothing they can do , this key is changed everytime a user users the vpn hence unless the get the key in 15 mins it would be useless also evidance will still be a major factor, no court can issue a warrent on hearsay, they have to have evidance, this bill will not work like the previous ones the bought out

Disproportionate……I now have to pay the sugar tax +£0.20p on a tin of soda/fizz because of fat people. Rather than punish or re-educate the few they go after the many. Government overreach is real people. These are draconian orwelian rules and need to be prevented!

  17. @GowGG-ql9dh

And what if aTory party member wants to look at the messages of a Labour Party member? These “private police” are non-corruptible are they? Investigative journalists aren’t able to use their phones now? Once an employee from a private police force / company one day chose to change career, so they are going to what, wipe their brains off their previous policing job and forget what they learned?

These are just a few points of why this is not only daft but straight up moronic.

Adult children way out their depth of why humans evolved with the ability to have privacy.

Like water and life privacy will find a way.
