The Tories aren’t popular with young people and Sunak’s shift on Net Zero will likely only widen that political divide. So in this video, we’ll examine why Millennials and Gen-Z don’t vote Conservative and why this could be an existential issue for them.

Same in the States. Younger generations are more informed and Conservative sales pitches require levels of ignorance they exceed.

Sadly we have more religious nut bags who are totally willing to, well… clearly believe nutty stories.

If you aren't wealthy, i.e net worth and liquid assets in the millions, and vote conservative you're a brainwashed clown voting against your own interests, simple as that. Always has been and always will be. It's just more obvious now with the internet and better dissemination of information.

  5. @SenorKristobbalVLog

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

A lot of millenials are middle aged now. We are largely not driven by money, in part because we are driven by better things but also because most of us even by our late 30s/early 40s as we are now still haven't made much as we literally couldn't. Why on earth even later in life would we vote tory then?

  6. @willforest5302

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

The Conservatives arent conservative. Young conservatives call them lefists.

Net zero is ridiculous, we produce less than 1% of global emissions, why should we impoverish ourselves. It's all because of carrie

  11. @nishant115me

net zero goals with extreme timelines will raise inflation even further, people don't know what they are asking for. Politicians will keep playing them.

I’m lucky enough to be a millennial who owns property, but I will still NEVER vote Tory. Especially after seeing what the current Tories have done to this country since 2016.

  13. @MANUELEYTOR

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Sad that young brits on the left only have Labour, that's as right wing as the the Tories on social issues.

  14. @TheAyanamiRei

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

From what I have heard on this subject before, we're seeing similar things happening in the US. Rather than Evolve & Change with the Times in order to target the Growing Younger Demographic, they instead try to Hold Tight to a Dying Older Demographic. They go for Short Term Power, rather than Long Term Power, ensuring that their Party WILL be killed off in the Future. That they go Extreme Conservative, this is DESPITE the fact that even Young Conservatives are frequently LESS Conservative than their Parents & Grandparents!!

  15. @cacola_3373

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

because they want to keep kiling babys on a fast track and paid for by tax payers.

    Young people don’t vote
    Don’t care
Shame really because could have a major impact

So why would they want to attract young voters if maybe 20% of that group will go out and vote.

It’s fair to say the conservatives only appeal to the elderly who own houses and those with low levels education. Which it’s also fair to say is not exactly a winning electoral strategy

  19. @Andrew-tx9jy

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

When you see your future being ruined it's difficult to vote Tory.

  20. @LEWIS1992

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

It's because our education system pushed left-wing agendas, but never right-wing issues.

Examples: plenty of lessons about LGBT and global warming, but absolutely no discussion about the immigration crisis or high taxes funding the nationalisation of everything.

  21. @tonymaries1652

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

I am of the age where your charts suggest I might start voting Tory (ugh puke!) But life experience and hard facts mean I never will.
When I was younger there used to be Young Conservatives in every town and it was a popular way for young middle class people to find a life-long partner (and acquire life-long prejudices). I just googled for the Young Conservatives in my town, in a rural area which has almost always had a Tory MP, and searched on social media, not a trace. And several neighbouring towns. Top of the Google picks was Tunbridge Wells Young Conservatives. Have the Young Tories atrophied to such an extent that they only continue to exist in the most true-blue Tory heartlands. I hope so!

Wake up young people, Sunak ditched you long ago,, HELLO 👋

  23. @TheRoseBoy11

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

With how much the Tories have fumbled the bag (need I say more about Boris, Liz, or Sunak that hasn't been said) since the end of Margaret Thatcher's reign (regardless of what you think of her you can't deny she was a powerhouse during that time), i'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Even as a young conservative Yank myself. They're in need of a reset for themselves.

  25. @mememostars9958

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

To me the only way that the conservative party could win the election is to appeal to voters greed and desires .

  26. @Megasmithy2001

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Millennials are NOT young people. Considering voting brackets, Gen Z are the majority (and increasing) young bracket.

  27. @Ducbery

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

I've been voting tory since i was able to vote, and probs will do after Labour basically backstabbed the people and wnat to rejoin the EU.

  28. @Gomolon95

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Millennials can mid-40's now, which is arguably middle aged. This isn't going to stop until all of society are "Millenials", isn't it? Pretty disappointing to see news geared at a younger generation completely ignore Gen Z (and Gen Alpha, although they can't vote yet).

  29. @idcgaming518

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Perhaps young people in the cities are turning against conservative. But out where I live, labour straight up expects our votes despite calling every last one of us racist, sexist, xenophobic bigots, and also tries to monoplise unions by basically forcing you to be a member of their party. I dont support labour OR conservative, I support my local independent party. But god damn, Labour round here make it hard to vote for them. I only support conservatives because Id rather see another "rich for rich" government, than EVER put my faith in those red bastards who betrayed the REAL workers (factory workers, farmhands and other TRUE labourers) in favour of the middle class wokists. They stabbed my entire county in the back, so we will NEVER see them in power again as long as we all live. And if those class traitors do ever claim power again… well, lets just say the UK might not only have to worry about the scots, welsh or northern irish leaving.

  30. @Noidonteatbabiesstopasking

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

You can’t compare British state pensions to European ones. European pensions are based on how much you pay in

  31. @Cubus-zapasowy

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Those are not really the reasons

    1. In countries where "right wing parties" are left wing economically (such as in Poland or Italy) old people still vote for them, so that has nothing to do with preserving their wealth.
    2. It also has nothing to do with old people being more conservative on social issues, because Tories are not conservative on social issues. They support and actually legalised gay marriage, they support abortion and legalised it in Northern Ireland, they banned anti-abortion protests recently, they are pro multiculturalism and increasing immigration (immigration is record high today in UK). On social issues they are fully left wing.

  32. @Teelirious

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

I guess turnabout is fair play.

  33. @KirstenandTom2011

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

Not a great long-term strategy. What happens when all the older generations die?? Whos going to vote for you. Since a young voter always takes the place of an old dead voter, then this truly is a strategy to make the Tories a very insignificant party in the futiure.

  34. @JayShettyPodcast._.-

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

I'm so happy I made the best decisions by having a good investment, Recently I'm able to acquire my third house even as a single mom at 42 and I believe if things keep going well I would retire early😊

  35. @dacorum8053

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

With most potential young conservative supporters looking to go to university, why on earth should they vote for the conservative party that gave them £9,000 a year tuition fees and living expense loans that will land them with £60,000 of debt after 3 years that are made far worse by high compound interest charges that mean that most of them will never pay off in their working lives? Their loans will mean that they will instead be paying 9% more income tax for their working lives on anything they earn over £25,000 pa which will constantly remind them that the Tories are the party of high taxation!!

Scotland has free university tuition and so should England. The loans will never be repaid anyway and will have to be written off eventually, so why wait?

  36. @ruthe6017

    December 20, 2023 at 6:29 am

They cannot afford to vote conservative.
