Iraq is one of the most climate-vulnerable places on Earth.
This summer, Sheikh Kezem Al-Kaabi fights to continue farming his ancestral land despite extreme heat and worsening water shortages.
In Baghdad, traffic cop Sa’ad Saddam Abdulhasan is responsible for one of the city’s busiest intersections. He keeps the city moving, but that means working in 50C heat.

Thirty US states are suing Meta for over $1 trillion, accusing it of knowingly designing Instagram and Facebook to be addictive and harmful to children, while concealing what it knew.
If they win, it could force Meta to overhaul the platforms for good, ending features like “like” counts, infinite scroll and autoplay video.

At least 224 people are dead and a state of emergency has been declared after Colombia was hit by one of its largest earthquakes in years.
The death toll is likely to rise, with more feared trapped under collapsed buildings.
The magnitude 7.4 quake struck at 07:34 (12:34 GMT) at a depth of 103km (64 miles) in Chocó province, the country’s geological service said. It was felt across an enormous area, stretching for hundreds of miles across western Colombia.
Many of the deaths have been concentrated in Cali, Colombia’s third most populous city.

And yet, climate change is IRREVERSABLE in any time frame relevant to human lifetimes. You cannot "unextinct" the thousands (millions?) of species gone forever in the clearcut, slashed and burned, Brazilian Amazon rainforest. The sunlight-reflecting Arctic Ocean snow and ice cover will melt to a blue ocean event (fewer than one million square kilometers cover) this decade. Then, the ocean will heat and melt/sublimate the submariene methane clathrates and nearby tundra releasing the potent "greenhous gas" methane and also carbon dioxide. There are NO practical ways being implimented to stop, let alone slow or reverse the process. We are out of time and action to slow, let alone stop or reverse, these processes. The consequenss follow.

How do people in the Middle East survive with temperatures reaching 50% Celsius and above?, in one of these years in my country South Africa in the region where I live it hit 45% Celsius and about 10 people died of heat stroke, that was the first and the last time temperatures reached 40% and above. Lastly, why you need a traffic police when you can install a traffic light.

I believe I can push Iraq 🇮🇶 and put it closer to Iceland and hopefully Iraq 🇮🇶 will never be that hot 🥵 again. Well humans can travel from Iraq to Iceland 🇮🇸 by planes ✈️, but I believe we should build a technology where we can move countries and put them elsewhere.

My heart is with Iraqi people, I really hope that the desalination systems will be fully; operational. In the UAE water is available everywhere thanks to that. They can also afford some cloud seeding techniques to create rain clouds through condensation. With the current events in Iraq we just wish for a better governance and unity to reorganise the country.

And yet many decisions could be taken to enable all peoples on Earth to enjoy good health, education, food and water supplies and so on. If only the most powerful of the planet just decided to cut off many other expenses giving out profits only to those powerful people. In a way, seeing how many people still leave feels sad.
