Not a fan of the grill wok b/c I feel like you could just use a regular wok without the holes~

Thats not how you use the charcoal chimney. You grab a couple of sheets of newspaper, throw a little vegetable oil on it and stuff it under the bottom of the chimney and light it.

We slowcook and smoke on a regular barbecue. When making pulled pork or brisket the chimney is great for topping the coals of when the temperature is to low.

  5. @KoryBrooks

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

The chimney makes all the coals evenly lit

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

just flip the grill/cover and top up the coals
dont need to use the "chimney starter" again

I just like the fact that Ben got a sunburn from filming outside for like 30 minutes.

searing a steak over a chimney starter is a big hit in the sous vide community

Like Jamie said the chimney coal burner is so cheap here in Portugal .and the holey pan is cheap here too but is used for cooking chestnuts 😊

  14. @ghoulofmetal

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

the chimney starter is like using a kettle to boil the water then adding it to a pan

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

I love those birdfeeders! I always find pick up the veggies from the grill (I rarely use skewers) takes so long everything get's cold. Just picking up the cage and pouring them out in a bowl or on a tray sounds brilliant!

  16. @james0000

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Y'all think that heating the grill is part of the fun because you only do this for fun gatherings. When you are doings this every day of the week, it's very different. When you are doing this to cook large meals, it's very different. The starter that you showed also seems kind of large to me, I don't think I have ever used one that large. 300 pounds for the 4 sensor thermometer and billows is way, way, way too much IMHO. 210 pounds for the thermometer alone is too much as well. That should be more like 50 pounds MAX. But hey, they will rip people off, that's literally their job.

  17. @TenchiSawada

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Chimney starters are a great investment because they literally just pieces of metal that can last you years. Ive bought my chimeny starters 5+ years ago and its still going strong

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Can't tell if they've had a bevvy or just really enjoying their selves either way an amazing video guys 😂

  19. @Kithanalane

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

The chimney also replaces the need for lighter fluid.

  20. @jonasnielsen2617

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

It is also so very common to use a chimney starter in Denmark. You can get them all the way down to around the equivalent to 3-5 pounds.

  21. @kleverich2000

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

how is a charcoal chimney a gadget? thats how you use coal for a grill. also you thought it was 100 bucks and you spent 30. you can buy these for 15

  22. @rebeccscreasman3293

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Ben is correct. I purchased the “drink and drive” chicken before the segment was over, and it’s not for me. It’s for my brother.

  23. @brandonpawlik7305

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Similar to the mb, but mb is not built with the quality and accuracy

  24. @Copesthetic-Aesthetic

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

The main reason for using the charcoal starter is so you don't need lighter fluid.
A couple pieces of wadded paper is all you need.
In the grill the paper won't light the charcoal unless you have match light charcoal.

  25. @Appophust

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

4:26 I'm pretty sure he got confused and though he was doing pretentious ingredients. 🤣

  26. @ConnorSinclairCavin

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Tip: although messy, using the rollers to re-up seasoning/marinade on ingredients mid-cook is super efficient, just use a shallow pan

  27. @morgensanborn9104

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

The chimney thing is good and all, but I've always just used a coffee can. Punch a few holes in it, and Bob's your uncle, and for less than $5 🙂

  28. @cheu666

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

I wish you would show the prices in Euros and US Dollars or something in addition to Pounds, a lot of people who watch you aren't from the UK and don't understand the price in Pounds

  29. @eddebrock

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Took me a second to get the wok "from the Vatican" bit.
    Because it's "holey" isn't it?

  30. @meisterodenwald

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

This Chicken Bike is outragoeusly amusing xD

  31. @Octokaizer

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

If I remember correctly didn't Alton Brown or someone debunk beer can chicken and say that it is pointless and doesn't actually add anything to the chicken?

  32. @Nahinalau

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

I use my charcoal chimney for getting the grill started and it also serves as a rocket platform later in the evening. Those holes and side walls make great places to set up a dozen bottle rockets and light them all in one go with a torch. Good stuff!

  33. @johnmyers8921

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

I think you kind of missed the entire point of the chimney. Yes, to all the things you mentioned. However, one the biggest advantages is that you put newspaper in the bottom bit, light it with a match and the charcoal will light. Without a chimney people use petroleum products to light the charcoal. With the chimney you aren't using charcoal lighter fluid. Pretty sure no petroleum on the coils would be pretty on brand. Anyways, was great, just a minor note you missed.

  34. @Lucky008aau

    January 8, 2024 at 6:28 am

Since a chimney starter gets coals so hot, Alton Brown put a grate on top and seared Ahi tuna on it. 2" chunks, seared 4 sides, 30 seconds each. To light the charcoal he used wadded up newspaper with a little oil on it, under the bottom grate.
