🗣️”I can beat Usain Bolt in the 100M‼️” Haye vs Fury | The Fight That Never Was #Throwback #Boxing
🗣️”I can beat Usain Bolt in the 100M‼️”
🎥 When David Haye & Tyson Fury appeared Sky Sports’ Ringside show following the opening presser for their huge showdown in 2013.
❌ Following two seperate injuries to the ‘Hayemaker’ the bout never came to fruition and, even though they shared just the one day of build-up & hype, it is a contest that is still debated to this day.
🗣️ The ‘Gypsy King’ was unequivocal in his belief about what had occured saying “I’m absolutely furious but in all honesty this is exactly what I expected.
Everyone knows I was very suspicious when he pulled out the first time and this confirms to me that he’s always been afraid of me and never wanted this fight.”
Was Fury right in his assesment?🤔

😱CRAZY FIGHT‼️ Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III | FULL FIGHT | WBC Title | BT Sport Box Office
Tyson Fury 30–0–1 (21 KO) vs. Deontay Wilder 42–1–1 (41 KO) III, billed as Once and for All, was a professional boxing match contested between WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, and former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder. The bout took place at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on October 9, 2021. The fight was widely regarded as the best fight of the year and one of the greatest heavyweight fights of all time, winning the award for The Ring magazine Fight of the Year 2021.
Fury and Wilder first fought in December 2018, with the bout ending in a controversial draw. The pair had a rematch in February 2020, with Fury emerging victorious via seventh-round technical knockout to capture the WBC and vacant Ring magazine heavyweight titles. Wilder initiated a contractual rematch clause in March, with the bout initially being scheduled for July 18. However, due to Wilder still recovering from surgery and concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the bout was postponed to October. The date was again pushed back to December due to the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions that would limit fan attendance. After ESPN was unwilling to televise the bout as the event would conflict with their NFL schedule, it was suggested the date be pushed back for a third time. Upon hearing the news, Fury announced that he was walking away from the fight, stating, “they asked me if I would agree to push it to December. I agreed to Dec. 19. Then they tried to change the date again into next year. I’ve been training. I’m ready. When they tried moving off Dec. 19 and pushing to next year, enough was enough. I’ve moved on.” Wilder responded to the comments by releasing a video on social media, accusing Fury of cheating in their February 2020 fight.
With Fury’s team insisting the rematch clause had now expired, and Wilder’s team insisting the opposite, the teams entered into a mediation process in an attempt to solve the issue, with a legally binding outcome being decided by an arbitration judge. In the meantime, Fury entered negotiations for a unification bout with reigning WBA (Super), IBF and WBO champion, Anthony Joshua. Following months of negotiations between the promoters of Fury and Joshua, an official announcement was said to be imminent. However, on May 17, 2021, it was announced that the arbitration judge had ruled in Wilder’s favor, ordering Fury to face Wilder no later than September 15.
Following the arbitration decision, Fury’s co-promoter, Bob Arum, revealed a targeted date of July 24, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was postponed after Fury tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2021. The new date was announced as October 9, 2021. Both men weighed in at their respective career-heaviest weights, with the champion Fury weighing in at 277 lbs, and the challenger Wilder at 238 lbs.

💣KNOCKDOWNS GALORE‼️Wladimir Klitschko vs Samuel Peter I | FULL FIGHT | Heavyweight Boxing | HBO
Wladimir Klitschko 44–3 (39 KO) vs. Samuel Peter 24–0 (21 KO), billed as “Boardwalk Brawls”, was a professional boxing match contested on 24 September 2005.
Since his upset stoppage loss at the hands of Lamon Brewster, Wladimir Klitschko had secured two stoppage victories, first a split technical decision over DaVarryl Williamson and the second a 4th-round TKO over Eliseo Castillo. Despite this, many observers continued to question both Wladimir’s chin and his stamina, as a result of the nature of his three losses to Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders and Brewster.
Meanwhile, Samuel Peter was rising quickly through the heavyweight ranks, being ranked inside the top 10 by all the major sanctioning bodies, with his build and punching power drawing comparisons to Mike Tyson. Indeed, when he interviewed by ESPN in June 2005, shortly before his final fight against Kevin McBride, Tyson would name Peter as one of his favourite fighters from the newest crop of heavyweights. However, his record was criticised for the lack of notable opposition, and he had been described as slow, sloppy and predictable.
On the 3 August 2005 the match up between Klitschko and Peter was confirmed. It would be an eliminator for the IBF and WBO belts held by Chris Byrd and Brewster (both former Klitschko opponents), in addition Peter’s NABF and the vacant NABO titles were on the line. Speaking at the New York press conference on 10 August, Peter told the assembled reporters, “I’m coming to do what I do. I’m a specialist. I’m a knockout specialist.” Klitschko’s trainer, Emanuel Steward predicted that his man would be the one to finish the fight early, “I predict he will knock out Sam Peter between the third and seventh round, he’s a seasoned professional fighter against an aggressive green fighter.” Veteran trainer Angelo Dundee predicted an early Peter knockout, saying “You can’t train a chin”. It had been reported that many within the Klitschko camp didn’t want to take the fight, but that Wladimir insisted that he wanted to face Peter.
Most expected the bout to end in a knockout, given the question marks over Klitschko’s stamina and the feeling that Peter would be unable to outbox Wladimir. Peter was a 7 to 5 favourite entering the ring.

📆 #OTD Floyd Mayweather vs Oscar De La Hoya | FULL FIGHT | WBC Super-Welterweight Boxing | 5/5/2007
Oscar De La Hoya 8–4 (30 KO) vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 37–0 (24 KO), billed as The World Awaits, was a professional boxing match contested on May 5, 2007, for the WBC super welterweight championship.
At the time, the bout was the most lucrative boxing match ever, with over $130 million in generated revenue.
The fight took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada under the promotion of Golden Boy Promotions. It was contested at 154 pounds, with De La Hoya defending his WBC light middleweight championship.
Tickets sold out three hours after they went on sale on Saturday, January 27, 2007. With the sellout, the bout generated over $19 million in live gate, beating the previous record of $16,860,300 set by the June 28, 1997, heavyweight championship rematch between Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson at the Thomas & Mack Center. The fight was televised on HBO pay-per-view, with the cost to watch the fight at $55 in the U.S.
As part of the buildup for the fight, HBO produced an unprecedented four-part prelude. The series, titled De La Hoya-Mayweather 24/7, aired installments on the final three Sundays of April, with the fourth installment airing on Thursday, May 3, two days before the fight. The series focused on each fighter’s training and preparation for the bout.
A subplot to the fight concerned whether De La Hoya would be trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr., the estranged father of Mayweather Jr. Mayweather Sr. had served as De La Hoya’s trainer since 2001. Mayweather Sr. announced his willingness to train De La Hoya after initially declining to oppose his son, but demanded a $2 million fee in light of the enormous revenue to be generated by the fight. De La Hoya declined to meet Mayweather Sr.’s demands, making a counteroffer of $500,000 guaranteed plus an additional $500,000 contingent on De La Hoya winning the fight. Ultimately, the sides were unable to come to an agreement and De La Hoya hired the highly respected Freddie Roach to be his cornerman instead.
Although Mayweather Sr. reunited with his son at the start of Floyd Jr.’s training camp, he had no official role, as Floyd Jr. opted to retain his uncle, Roger Mayweather, as his trainer instead. Mayweather Sr. left the camp by the end of April, upset over not being chosen as trainer and by comments made by his son and brother during the taping of the 24/7 show.

🪖Battle of Britain🇬🇧 Haye vs Harrison | WBA Heavyweight Boxing | FULL FIGHT | Sky Sports Box Office
David Haye 24–1 (22 KO) vs. Audley Harrison 27–4 (20 KO), billed as Best of Enemies, was a professional boxing match contested on 13 November 2010 for the WBA Heavyweight championship.
After his stoppage win over former champion John Ruiz in his first defence, WBA champion David Haye entered into negotiations with the Klitschko brothers, with Wembley Stadium and Stamford Bridge being mentioned possible venues] These talks however were unsuccessful as the brothers agreed to face former champions Shannon Briggs and Samuel Peter instead. This left two main options for Haye: European champion (and former amateur teammate) Audley Harrison and former two-division champion Tomasz Adamek. Ultimately, Haye came to an agreement with Harrison to meet in November.
The build up to bout was marked by a great amount of trashtalk from both fighters, including Haye saying ‘Fortunately, there are enough people in Britain who want to see him get destroyed, completely annihilated. That’s why this fight is happening. They want me to close the curtain on the joke that is the Audley Harrison show’. Harrison said ‘When I came out of the Olympics, they called me Muhammad Ali, then four years later I’m “Fraudley”. But after this fight I’ll be extraordinary’.
It was expected that Haye’s superior speed, coupled with his uppercut, would give him the edge over the slower and innately more cautious Harrison.
This was only the third time in history that two Brits had faced each other for the heavyweight title, and the first on UK soil since Lennox Lewis vs. Frank Bruno in 1993.
