Vintage in Pills DOUGLAS HANNANT Fall 2001 New York – Fashion Channel

Douglas Hannant presented his Fall/Winter 2001 collection in New York with a vision influenced by the geometric principles and architectural language of the Bauhaus movement. The collection explored the relationship between structure and sensuality, combining precise tailoring with sculptural details and a strong sense of proportion.

The runway featured a contrast between classic menswear-inspired elements and more architectural silhouettes, with pinstriped fabrics, fitted jackets, leather accents, and sharply defined shapes creating a modern, graphic wardrobe. Angular panels, pointed constructions, and elongated lines emphasized the body through structured forms, while fitted leather details introduced a more assertive and contemporary edge.

The collection also reflected the influence of Italian design traditions, particularly in its attention to construction and silhouette, recalling the architectural elegance and precision often associated with Gianfranco Ferré.
