The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released the Crime in India 2024 report along with the Accidental Deaths & Suicides in India (ADSI) 2024 report. According to the report, a total of 58.86 lakh cognisable crimes were recorded across India in 2024, showing a 6% decline compared to the previous year.
However, cybercrime cases witnessed a major increase, with more than 1 lakh cybercrime cases registered in 2024. The report also highlights alarming trends related to suicides and drug overdose deaths in the country.
