Last week, Israel held a pivotal general election – the first since the deadly Hamas-led attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023 and the wars that followed in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the opposition bloc – led by Gadi Eisenkot – are in near deadlock. Now comes a period of political deal-making to form a coalition government.

The BBC’s Middle East Correspondent Lucy Williamson spoke to voters in the lead up to the vote to see what influenced their vote.

It’s a world so small that some physicists have nicknamed it the zeptoverse.

The research was obtained from an experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, and could help researchers develop a new, more complete theory of how the Universe works.

It was led by scientists based in Cambridge, who told the BBC funding withdrawals from the UK meant the country’s full involvement in the research could be in doubt.
