Dozens dead and injured in Russian strike on central Ukraine city – BBC News
Russian forces have extended their reach into the heart of Ukraine, bombing a city far from the eastern frontline.
At least 23 people, including children, were killed in a cruise missile attack, according to the Ukrainian authorities. They said that more than 60 needed hospital treatment and dozens more people are missing.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskym called it ‘an open act of terrorism’. Â
The attack took place in the city of Vinnytsia, south-west of the capital Kyiv and a long way from the focus of the fighting in the eastern region of Donbas.
The Russian defence ministry has consistently denied targeting civilians, despite the evidence. Â

Throughout US President Donald Trump’s second term in office, traders have been betting millions of dollars just before he makes major announcements.
The BBC has found a consistent pattern of spikes in trades and finical markets just hours, or sometimes minutes, before the president’s most significant market-moving statements were made public.
Some analysts say it bears the hallmarks of illegal insider trading, whereby bets are made by people based on information that is not available to the general public.
While others say that some traders have become more adept at anticipating the president’s interventions.
