The Hella-Big Burger | #BeatMyBurger ep.3

Published

on

A black pepper and fresh thyme criss-cross baked jacket potato forms the burger ‘bun’ here. This lacto-free and bread free burger is not for the faint-hearted! An impressively-sized beef burger seasoned with mustard powder and draped with a sunny side up fried egg sits in between. To cut through the richness enjoy slices of juicy beef tomato, some homemade cider vinegar pickled red onions infused with star anise, cloves and peppercorns and a generous dollop of creamy dill mayonnaise. You may need a knife and fork… but you sure won’t want to leave any on the plate! It’s elegantly trashy!

We’re on a quest to find the internet’s ultimate burger and this suggestion came from top YouTuber and all round brilliant creator, Grace Helbig. Check out the video here: http://bit.ly/1wJoVZk

I might have to try this because it doesn't look like it would be easy to eat with the potato for a bun, but who knows it probably is.

I stuff mine with creamy blue cheese and thick cut peppery bacon (chopped). Toss it on a toasted ciabatta bun spread with a tiny layer of bacon fat. Oh and caramelized onions cuz I'm cool like that.

Fry the burger on a cast iron. (grill doesn't work good for a stuffed burger; gotta seal in those juices and the cheese) Yes, it's a juicy lucy (hailing from Minnesota)

We Gave Our Kids TOTAL Control of the Food Shopping

Published

on

A 7-year-old just did our grocery shop… and Jamie & Mike have to turn it into a delicious meal.
Baz’s son Austin had TOTAL control in the supermarket – picking ingredients that absolutely shouldn’t go together (sweet, savoury, snacks, “why is that in the trolley?”). Then we revealed them to Jamie and Mike back in the Sorted kitchen with three rules:

✅Use EVERY ingredient Austin buys
✅Make a dish we’d actually want to eat
✅Survive the midway curveball bag that could ruin everything!

You’ll see Austin choosing items in-store, then we cut back to the kitchen as the lads scramble to form a plan, adapt on the fly, and somehow plate up something worthy of praise from not just Chef Ben but Austin himself.

Which ingredient would have broken your brain the most – and did the curveball bag make it better or worse?
