Hamas-run health ministry says deadly air strike hit Gaza al-Maghazi refugee camp – BBC News
The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said more than 30 people have been killed in an Israeli air strike on the al-Maghazi refugee camp.
The ministry said the air strike happened on Saturday, 4 November.
An Israeli military spokesperson said they were looking into whether the IDF had been operating in the area at the time, according to the AFP news agency.
Hamas as a whole, or in some cases its military wing, is designated a terrorist group by Israel, the United States, European Union and United Kingdom, as well as other powers.
The BBC has not been able to independently verify the casualty figures or what happened.

In Lebanon, one in five people have been forced to leave their homes since fighting renewed in March.
The BBC’s Middle East correspondent Hugo Bachega joined paramedics on duty in Nabatieh – a city that was once vibrant, but is now abandoned.
Israel say some ambulances and health facilities in Lebanon are being used by Hezbollah – but paramedics say there is no evidence of this claim.
Elsewhere, the Israel Defense Forces said troops had killed more than 20 Hezbollah fighters operating from a hospital compound in Bint Jbeil on Sunday, the site of fierce fighting during the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah.
Lebanon’s health ministry denied the claim, accusing Israel of targeting civilians and medical facilities.

Police in Greece have been recruiting migrants to violently push other migrants back across its land border with Turkey, according to wide-ranging evidence uncovered by the BBC.
Pushbacks – forcing migrants and asylum seekers back across borders without due process – are generally considered illegal under international law.
The Greek prime minister told the BBC he was “totally unaware” about allegations of the use of migrants for pushbacks, while the country’s authorities have not responded to our written detailed requests for comment.

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of doing a “very poor job” in handling oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, arguing it was “not the agreement we have”.
It comes as the ceasefire between the US and Iran was agreed earlier this week, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aiming to begin direct talks with Lebanon for peaceful relations.
A US State Department official confirmed it would host a meeting next week in Washington “to discuss ongoing ceasefire negotiations with Israel and Lebanon”.
After Israeli strikes continued in Lebanon throughout Thursday, Trump said that Israel would be “scaling back” its strikes in the country to support peace talks.

Witnesses describe Hamas tunnels as always wet. Like every major urban center, the sewers and structures under Gaza are infested with rodents because that was their source of water before Isreal shut off the water supply. So now, the Hamas tunnels are being infested with a population of rodents that's growing exponentially because the corpses under the rubble – formerly human shields – are an abundant source of protein. Hamas can't shoot millions of rodents in their tunnels because of ricocheting. They can't gas them because they breath the same air. They can't poison them because they can't just toss dead rodents over the side like in trench warfare. The rodents urinate and defecate and can you imagine the stink growing every day? Isreali dog handlers can use terriers to track the odor and surround Hamas exits and air vents. Soon, all the corpses under the rubble will have been consumed and the rodents will be used to eating human flesh. What will become of the Hamas fighters? I haven't heard any reports of Isreal accepting POWs trying to flee the tunnels, have you?

Moreover, the distance to the south is only about 10 km. Even sick people can get around using cars and carts.
