Stop building warehouse's Overground and taking up space. There's plenty space for building but reserved for higher bidder's. Storage facilities should go Underground in silos and goods moved by underground rail.

The roads aren't Andy. Trafford Park is a pothole nightmare. There are traffic cones everywhere. The city is not flowing. Sort this out and industry will start moving I stead of being in a traffic jam.
Also where can all the forgotten youths go? They are all on the parks bored.

Stop building homes that allow landlords to purchase and rent out.
We need more council housing with no right to buy

Says our delightful mayor, who does nothing in Manchester for first time buyers, our kids. He fills our city with apartments owned by Russian and Chinese investors, that our kids can only ever rent and pay someone’s else’s mortgage for. He is useless, never does a word he says.

And labour need to wake up to the fact we don’t want anymore migrants.

That's right the government does need to wake up and stop giving people special rights for how they choose to be and stop outsourcing our jobs and bring back manufacturing there is no need for any homeless and everyone needs to stand up for what is right.

I guess Andy Burnham will be wanting to house a load of immigrants before the indigenous who will be paying for them.

More people less houses . It's a simple maths . We are getting more coming here . Legal and unlegal, we have more kids looking to move on from mum and dad . But no homes to go to it doesn't take Einstein to figure out this is going to get worse .and brown sit buildin is the way ahead .also landowners make money just leaving the land to rot rather than build . Too many slum landlords are left to there own devises . We need to build now or this will leave us open to a revolution of people looking for blood .it will happen

Didn't Labour get done for a cash for house's scandal. Taking money from the poor for 3rd and 4th house's.

Good time to work at the Home Office. Imigration levels in Britain are surging forward as the agenda to marginalise the indigenous white population grows. So much for the falsity of Brexit. No border patrols to return the migrants back to France. No proper security checks, but housing endless migrants in plush and modest hotels with money, bikes and plenty more beside. Britain is being systematically destroyed from the inside out! Since Callahan and the advent of Thatcher. It seems Brexit was nothing more than a lie sold to the guliable British sheep upon the land. Thank God I've never voted in my life.

Me, I'd campaign to get rid of housing rentals altogether. Give people a mortgage benefit and build economical housing.

Burnham suggesting someone else should wake up to the housing crisis ,he's having a laugh .Ask him what is happening with all the uninvited guests in Manchester .Mass illegal migration has driven a wrecking ball through any house building plans and this twerp and his mates are all in favour of it .

  28. @Lord_H

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

We do not need more houses, we need our current stock manged correctly. Social housing is given to people and they are tested at point of occupation. Then they have a house for life despite their situation as long as they pay the rent and it is their main home. Poor disabled people are re-assessed for their life long conditions every 2-5 years but a social housing tenant can continue to live in a house without any concern, even if they become rich or all their children leave the home and they still have a 3-5 bedroom house with only 1-2 people. Immigration does not help but this Mayor is not exactly honest or useful. Lets sort out social housing in the UK on a fairness basis and stop destroying the land to build more houses that will just be piss-poorly managed.

Amazing how in many parts of manchester Andy u got extortionate priced city centre appartments…..and they are all airbnbs….empty!!!!! Out here in saddleworth plenty of building going on…..massive 5/6 bed houses, nothing affordable.

Andy Burnham should stick to negligently killing people in the nhs or letting kids get groomed, both under his watch

Will Andy Burnham wake up to his part in causing the housinbg crisis, through uncontrolled borders, when he was part of Blair's New Labour. Sheer hypocracy.

The people need to wake up to the shadow government and the Global Covenant of Mayors for agenda 2030

  38. @stukavonferno8858

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Burnham is nothing but a left wing woketeer spewing complete and utter garbage. There wouldn't be a housing crisis if the illegal immigrants were stopped immediately!

  39. @dnstone1127

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

New quarries are opened in our national parks to provide cement, scouring out hills and politicians talk about their green credentials

  40. @agentsmith6492

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Maybe stop letting in untold amounts of illegals by taxying them to shore. Andy Burnham is full of BS…. He also needs investigating for what he knows about the grooming gang scandal. This goes right to the top and he is either complicit, or he knows who's involved but has said nothing to further his own career! A lot of these people coming in now are sexually abusive to our own citizens and Burnham stays quiet. Can't go against the narrative now or he'll lose his seat on the gravy train

  41. @mandyjones8443

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Take peoples house off them? Is what i heard. Ok because Authorities need more immigration houses.

  42. @yousoufkirkwood6289

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

    As does Manchester.

  43. @arron1906

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Landlords are deserting the market, so further threats will accelerate the exodus. Burnham could seek to support landlords rather than punish them.

  44. @aletheia358

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Cities should knock down existing buildings and use the free space to build more high rises. Burrow into the ground if you have to. The big cities want immigration and 'growth' so they should be the ones to deal with the issues that come with it. I'd rather see Manchester and Leeds and London turn into Hong Kong than have more farmland and countryside in the shires concreted over for the sake of immigrants, capitalists and various other swine.

  45. @aletheia358

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

There's no housing crisis in my district. The population here barely grew between 2011 and 2011 and if it wasn't for a couple of thousand Eastern Europeans we'd have had zero population growth. And yet we're building over farmland and recreational local woodland here like there's no tomorrow, to build houses we don't need, purely for the sake of the excess population of the big cities.

  46. @woden3894

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Labour started the housing crisis in 1997 when they opened the borders to mass migration, 26 years later not only can they not acknowledge the problem, but continue trying to put a band aid on an open wound.

  47. @DavidJones-xr6op

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

And fucking labour do too , they don’t care either they if they did they would stop illegal immigration, putting pressure on housing , you can not keep up the building on green spaces when you’ve got thousands of illegals coming in each day , until you rectify that building houses isn’t the answer , young people can’t afford the rent , it’s more expensive than a mortgage , !!!

  48. @dnstone1127

    January 25, 2024 at 3:03 pm

Labour refused to talk about the housing crisis in the past because they said it played into the hands of the Far Right
