Russia’s invasion of Ukraine ‘strategic failure’, says US Secretary of State – BBC News
Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has been described as a “strategic failure” by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
During an address in Finland, which is Nato’s newest member, Blinken also said the invasion had weakened Russia diplomatically, economically and militarily.

A British ultra-endurance athlete says he has broken the world record for running across the width of Australia, after a gruelling 35-day journey.
William Goodge, 31, started the 3,800km (2,361-mile) run from Cottesloe Beach in Perth on 15 April, and finished on Monday afternoon at Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach.
Goodge’s team says he ran the equivalent of two-and-a-half marathons, about 100km, every day.
The record is yet to be verified by Guinness World Records, which certified Chris Turnbull’s record-breaking dash across the continent over 39 days in 2023. The year before, Australian electrician Nedd Brockmann ran the same route in 47 days.

President Zelensky has said he’s ready to meet Vladimir Putin in Turkey this week for talks on ending the Ukraine War. It’s proposed that they take place in Turkey on Thursday.
It came after President Trump demanded immediate direct talks between Ukraine and Russia to determine if a peace deal is possible.
Mr Zelensky had previously insisted that a full ceasefire must begin ahead of any negotiations. Russia’s leader has refused to agree a ceasefire but has agreed to talks, although he’s not said if he will personally take part.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a "strategic failure" according to US top brass.
So let me get this straight, Russia warned the world that they would invade if Ukraine kept attacking the separatist regions. Then when Ukraine continued Russia invaded, hell they even told the entire world their gameplan and objectives. Then Russia did everything they said they would and are winning so thoroughly that Ukrainians have resorted to terrorist attacks on civilians in Russian border towns and cities in a desperate attempt to build up their fleeting morale.
Yet somehow we are supposed to believe the Russians are in over their heads and losing? Seriously LMAO?!

Why do you call "Ukrainian militants" an army?
There has been no army in Ukraine since 2014, when there was an armed seizure of power by internal terrorists.
The "army" of Ukraine consists of mercenaries who came from all over the world, they all have ultra-Nazi views, wear a swastika, draw a "German cross" on military equipment, as was the case with Nazi Germany in 1943. All these "militants" are united in battle groups, formed on the basis of the fascist detachments of the German army in 1943. Zelensky even calls the detachments the names of SS combat detachments, for example, "Edelweiss".
All these mercenaries are war criminals, many of them were in the Taliban and ISIS. …many mercenaries committed such war crimes that they were even banned by Ukraine itself, for example, "Tornado", "Azov", "Kozak" and others.
Don't call Ukraine's war criminals an army!

In 2014, there was an armed seizure of power in this "country"! Not democratically with a vote, but an armed seizure with weapons and militants !!! People with weapons broke into the parliament, the president's house, the administrative building, seized everything by force.
Those who seized power with weapons now rule Ukraine!
They are not legal!
It was terrorism within the country!
The laws of the country were destroyed and ceased to operate.
Since then, de jure, the country has ceased to exist.
In fact, now this is a territory with a dictator and their personally invented "laws" to which everyone has become obliged to obey in Ukraine under fear of terror.
You don't have to pretend like it's normal.
