When boris was in power all i ever see him do was travelling around on jolly days out and having fun. I used to laugh. Everyday he was on the news somwhere for great day out on our money. i would see in lab coat one day, a building ouftit the next, in police stuff on next ect. He would were the cloths to pretend theres a good reason for him to be there. There is no reason for him to be at all those places. Get back to downing street and do his flipping job.

US journalist Evan Gershkovich jailed in Russia | BBC News

Published

on

US journalist Evan Gershkovich has been found guilty of spying by a Russian court and sentenced to 16 years in a high-security prison, after a secretive trial labelled a “sham” by his employer, his family and the White House.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reporter was arrested by security services in March 2023 while working as a reporter in the city of Yekaterinburg, about 1,600km (1,000 miles) east of Moscow.

Russia accuses him of working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), accusations that Gershkovich, the WSJ and the US strongly deny.

He’s the first US journalist to be convicted for espionage in Russia since the Cold War ended more than 30 years ago.

UN top court says Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal | BBC News

Published

on

The UN’s top court has said Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories is against international law, in a landmark opinion.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) said Israel should stop settlement activity in the occupied West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza and end its “illegal” occupation of those areas as soon as possible.

The court’s advisory opinion is not legally binding but still carries significant political weight. It marks the first time the ICJ has delivered a position on the legality of the 57-year occupation.

The ICJ, based at The Hague in the Netherlands, has been examining the issue since the beginning of last year, at the request of the UN General Assembly.

San José galleon: Two new shipwrecks found off Colombian coast – BBC News

Published

on

Colombian naval officials monitoring a sunken Spanish ship laden with treasure have discovered two other historical shipwrecks nearby, President Iván Duque has announced.

The San José galleon was sunk by the British in 1708 near Colombia’s Caribbean port of Cartagena.

The wreckage was located in 2015.

It has been described as the holy grail of shipwrecks, as the ship was carrying one of the largest amounts of valuables ever to have been lost at sea.
