The Ukrainian mothers journeying to Russia to get their children back – BBC News
The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.
“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.
In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.
He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.
Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.
Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.
The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

Explosions have been heard near two Iranian port cities, Bandar Abbas and Bushehr, state media has reported.
It comes after another night of strikes between the US and Iran, with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps saying it hit two UAE tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and targeted US facilities in Jordan and Bahrain.
The UAE called the attack “brazen”, adding that an Indian crew member was killed and eight others were injured.
Meanwhile, the US military says it completed strikes on targets aimed at degrading “Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping” – Iranian state media reports three people were killed.

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.
Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.
President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.

Where were the mothers in the first place and do they have a safe plan ? Surely they are not taking them back to Ukraine. I saw a footage that children had been left by their parents and was hiding in cellars with their grandmothers and neighbours why was not the parents there ? I also saw a lot of footage of children and their oldest being taken to safety by volunteers and provided clothing and food but many had no parents. This was after Azov Nazis taking over flats in the same building. Why did they leave their children behind??? Please explain the whole story from the beginning 😢 I am happy to see reunion and I am happy to see the children have been looked after so well at least they have been safe and protected from being trafficked by unscrupulous criminals so for that we should all be grateful. We know how corrupt Ukraine has been and we should indeed worry about the teenage children that are now forced into joining the Ukrainian military this would never happen in Russia today. Wake up to the Nazi Ukraine government and BBC stop this hideous propaganda. All mothers once they can prove they are indeed the child mother via blood test and can prove they are taking their child to a safe place like Germany or any other country except Ukraine they are free to fly. Nothing brave about this just driven by guilty conscience leaving them behind in the first place specially your teenage sons that is not in Russia for safety but still in Ukraine being force into the Army 😢

It is unfortunate that some of the Ukraine children will never return to their Ukraine families – they will have become so brainwashed, they will have been told that their parents are dead and they have no to go back to, they will be told that life in the Russian Federation is now going to be their permanent home and they will be adopted by their new Russian parents and they will have no hope ever of returning to their birth nation. This is the plan of Putin – the total destruction of the nation state of Ukraine and the total elimination of the people of Ukraine. Using Ukraine children is the only weapon he now has because his military is failing him, his own people are failing him, God Almighty (a spiritual being he does not believe in) will one day punish him – let the Almighty God be his judge and jury.

Before commenting, people should look at the facts that have been verified to date, and not react based solely on emotion. Though we've heard ridiculously high numbers being thrown about, we have only heard from a very small number of parents first hand. In each of these cases, they were able to go and get their children without issues, and the children were in good health and had been well cared for. The fact is, many of the families involved sent their kids out if the war zone to ensure their safety. Other children were removed from hazardous areas for the same reason. These areas are still part of the war zone, and so it stands to reason that repatriation has not yet occurred. Nor should it occur if these children would be put in danger once again. In the past year and a half it has become quite fashionable to demonize Russians et al, when in fact they are no different than you or me. They did not invent war, this is not the first war the planet has ever experienced, nor are they even the most aggressive amongst the nations on this planet. Additionally, Russians love, protect, and nuture children just like any other culture. So, stop this hysteria already. Keep an eye on this situation, but wait for the facts to be vetted before casting judgement on an entire nation.
