Came back here after watching the recent game meats episode because I remembered them eating Squirrel and I must say this one is way better than whatever they did to the poor critter in this years episode 😅

In America, boiledh cow's tongue used to be fairly common Friday or Sunday roast, also known as Jewish ham.

Ben said, "I am never eating it again…." except about 4 years later when he makes the mistake of participating in the Fermented Poker Face challenge and met his nemesis again! Poor Ben.

Brown sauce or salad cream!? A good bacon sarnie needs neither!

I love century egg, and I'd gladly eat one whole (with porridge, of course! That's a must.) with no problem. On the other hand, I think I would have a much bigger reaction to the larvae, and completely reject the squirrel. I don't think I've ever seen a real life squirrel, let alone imagining having to eat one.

I went to church camp, but I was a kid. Two kids already there and they were barbecuing some thing by themselves. We ran over to see what they were cooking and it smelled really good. They were giggling as they were feeding us, whatever they were grilling and then we asked what it was they told us it was a roadkill. They had no clue what it was.

We didn't have much money when I was a kid, so we usually got cheap stuff like cows tounge, blood pudding, baked cauliflower etc. Everyone once in a while we got a bit of dried reindeerheart (expensive), that is delicious. I didn't enjoy surströmming when I was a kid but I love it now, you put a little bit of it on flatbread with butter, potatoes, sourcream and red onions.

  24. @LeeDassin

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

When you realize you’re weird because you eat congee and century eggs as a comfort food 😂

  25. @huggledemon32

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

I have childhood memories of my dad cooking up beef tongue, and giving it to us for dinner with white sauce- the texture was odd but again- the taste wasn’t too bad!? Kind of reminded me of overly processed lunch meat- that kind of rubbery homogeneous texture. But flavour wise for some it reminded me of corn beef??

  26. @huggledemon32

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

I’ve tried chicken hearts once at uni- I had a Burmese friend who stir fried them for my bf and I- interesting- not overly offensive, but I wasn’t a fan of the chewy texture🤷‍♀️

  27. @markbolton4142

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

why does your bacon look like thinly sliced pork loin

  28. @patmaurer8541

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

Here's how I level up a bacon sandwich: cook the bacon. Use the fat to 'butter' the bread, drain the rest from the pan. Use that pan to assemble bread, bacon, sharp aged cheddar, and finely grated fresh jalapeño, bit more cheese, bread Grill over medium heat until cheese is melty. Enjoy! 😀

Came home from school one day to the smell of vinegar boiling. Opened the pot lid, and a cow's tongue was giving me a raspberry. I didn't try it.

  30. @MrBobWareham

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

I bet the pigs tongue is lip-smacking good, Not

  31. @marjoriejohnson6535

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

Squirel with ramps in early spring are good but all game needs to be properly dressed and butchered but there isn't a commercial butcher that does them justice..I know…

  32. @marjoriejohnson6535

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

I used a pickling liquid hot or sweet to cook tongue..venison, beef or pork..usually venison . I had it as a child but I do prefer heart.

  33. @emoore0613

    January 21, 2024 at 8:54 am

I am crying this is so freaking funny, you guys are the best!

  34. @aly7515

IMO, if they'd had the quarters of century egg with more of that congee, it would've dampened the strength of the flavour. Century egg itself doesn't appear to have any textures they've had problems with; the white is like a firm jello, while the yolk itself has a similar creaminess to a boiled egg yolk that's gone past runny but not yet completely crumbly. It may have also helped if the congee hadn't been too heavily seasoned, as the flavours of the century egg would've given it plenty of seasoning.
