The homemakers breaking taboos on Instagram
As a child, Pradnya loved kabaddi, a popular local sport, and dancing. Although she was a good player, her parents never encouraged her ambitions. But now – 47 and a widow – she says she has rediscovered her other passion – dancing – thanks to social media.
65-year-old Vasanti once struggled to make ends meet while selling snacks on a pushcart. But now her three sons have successful careers and she has decided to focus on herself. With her youngest son’s help, she began sharing videos of her lip-syncing to popular songs.
Reetu, 46, became a local celebrity for her Instagram dancing videos – although her family was not happy about it. But with her husband’s support, she says she has decided to forge ahead and dream bigger.
The three women tell the BBC about their journey to internet fame.

At least 224 people are dead and a state of emergency has been declared after Colombia was hit by one of its largest earthquakes in years.
The death toll is likely to rise, with more feared trapped under collapsed buildings.
The magnitude 7.4 quake struck at 07:34 (12:34 GMT) at a depth of 103km (64 miles) in Chocó province, the country’s geological service said. It was felt across an enormous area, stretching for hundreds of miles across western Colombia.
Many of the deaths have been concentrated in Cali, Colombia’s third most populous city.

A man has died and thousands of people have been told to evacuate their homes amid torrential rain and flash flooding in Australia’s largest city, Sydney.
Roads have been cut off, with 18 evacuation orders in western Sydney alone and warnings of more to come.
“This is a life-threatening emergency situation,” Stephanie Cooke, emergency services minister for the state of New South Wales, said.

Robots compete in football, boxing and sprinting at World Humanoid Games in China | BBC News
The second edition of the World Humanoid Games kicked off in China on Saturday.
The competition will run for five days and has already included a robot running faster than Usain Bolt’s 100m sprint world record.
Elsewhere at the event in Beijing, a robot performed Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration on the football pitch and droids took part in synchronised marching at its opening ceremony.
Robots have also been competing in events including boxing, high jump and table tennis.
