I can't understand WHY they don't ask for one bread roll so they can split it up and clean the sauce out of the serving dish with it. (YEP; I do be a pig-uh-let when I go out for a nosh)

An old 'Family Feud' blooper actually brought me here. Host Richard Karn asked a contestant (whose name is Kickback) "Name something associated with London?", Kickback says "I'm thinking pasta." The audience chuckled and pasta did not make the survey.

If James wasn't allowed to get gnocchi, has shouldn't have been allowed to get pudding.

Never been real fond of pasta and now that I have to be gluten free, it is hard to find really good GF pasta. I think James place was right for the price.

Being from the US, I'm surprised these restaurants offered free bread with their meals. Bread is how we would "lick the plate" over here, and in my opinion, what's left on the plate after eating the pasta is so packed with great flavors I wouldn't want to skip it.

4 years ago, Padella's most expensive pasta dish was 8 quid. Just looked now (Nov 2022), and it's 16 quid!

Sampling more pasta dishes would have been a lot more entertaining than: no the budget! For a good/cooking channel you sure gave it your all to not present a wider selection of food.

    This was awsome! ❤
Still… my daughter makes THE BEST PASTA! Pasta carbonara.
I am soooooo spoiled, and my girth has expanded so much since the first taste of her pasta!
The recipe is easy, but she uses so much time to prepare everything the way she like. Which is…. fantastic! ❤

Cacio e pepe with fresh pasta is an abomination. Most of the traditional Roman pastas demand a slow dried pasta, preferably cut with brass/bronze die, to get the right texture to grab onto the sauce. Also fresh pasta also utilises eggs, which is way too rich for these types of pastas.

“I have sworn an oath of solitude whilst this pestilence continues to scourge the land.”

I would like to have food like that, but I don’t live in London, England. I live in Port Huron, Michigan, USA which is several thousand miles from London, England. However, I am about 60 miles/100 km away from London Ontario to the east and Detroit Michigan also about 60 miles/100 km to the, however, I’m somewhat disabled in 75 years old and morbidly obese or as people in the UK would say the typical American. So it makes it difficult even to out the dinner in Port Huron let alone traveling to almost any place more than 15 or 20 minutes away. So I have to get delivery for any meals that I don’t make myself.
This is just turning out to be a pissing and moaning exercise because I've been too lazy to take the necessary steps to improve my physical condition.
