Violence against women and girls in Iraq is widespread, but under reported, according to UN experts.
For incidents of sexual violence, there are no official figures. Human rights campaigners in the country say more needs to be done to protect women who speak out. They say threats and incitement against survivors should be investigated as crimes.
BBC Arabic’s Sally Nabil has been to Baghdad to speak to women who say family and social pressures discouraged them from speaking out, but have now decided to break their silence.

Floods have hit Australia’s largest city Sydney for the third time this year prompting evacuation warnings to 50,000 people.
Parts of Sydney have received about eight months of rain in four days.
Roads have been cut off, some houses are under water and thousands have been left without power.
Widespread flooding across Australia – driven by a La Niña weather pattern – has killed more than 20 people this year, many in New South Wales.

Saudia Arabia vows ‘serious response’ to Houthi attacks and other stories | Global News Podcast
The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have continued to fire missiles towards Saudi Arabia, after a number of deadly attacks on Riyadh’s main international airport.
Almost all flights to and from the airport have been suspended. The Houthis say their actions are in retaliation for “brutal Saudi aggression” against areas they control in western Yemen.
Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman told a conference in Riyadh that the seriousness of the attacks required an equally serious response from the Kingdom.

As a Turk, I am truly sorry for everything, we are all still in mourning. Our people have a peculiarity, our memory is weak. We forgot what happened, how the government treated us in this situation, how rudely throwing money at our children who saw the earthquake and lived it. People here still live in tents, even after 3 months.18,000 buildings were destroyed, 50,000 people died. The unidentified bodies were buried by the backhoe because they were too many.
Presidential elections were held yesterday. The absurd part is that 9 out of 10 affected cities voted for our president to stay the same, not change. They voted in favor of the government, which has not been able to build earthquake-proof buildings in 20 years. Yes, we have a short-term memory… That's all I have to say.

£5million UK government aid to save lives- £1billion+weapons to kill people in war- it shows where their priorities lie. If the government said they'd only match public donations for war, it probably wouldn't get a penny. Peace is precious. No more war!
