Ukraine counter-offensive has begun, says President Zelensky – BBC News
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky appears to have confirmed that his country’s long-awaited counter-offensive against Russia has started.
But he refused to say which stage or state the counter-offensive was in.
The comments come after an escalation of fighting in the south and east of Ukraine and speculation about progress of the widely anticipated push.

Masked men have been filmed attacking Palestinians harvesting olives near the occupied West Bank village of Abu Falah.
The footage shows trees being set on fire while gunshots can also be heard. Israeli military vehicles were also spotted at the scene.
According to one Palestinian organisation attacks have affected more than 147,000 olive trees in the occupied West Bank in the last two years.

A Ukrainian man has gone on trial in Hamburg accused of blowing up Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipelines to Germany, four years after one of the most dramatic acts of sabotage in modern European history.
Prosecutors say Serhii Kuznetsov played a leading role in a team of saboteurs that destroyed the pipelines, accusing him of a war crime. His defence has called for the case to be dismissed.
The case is highly sensitive in Germany, seen as one of Ukraine’s closest allies since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, seven months before the attacks took place.
Extradited to Germany last year, Kuznetsov denies the charges, as does a second suspect who is fighting extradition from Croatia.

Violence begets violence. During the apartheid era in South Africa, the Americans and Europeans visited the game farms and killed countless big cats like lions, tigers, cheetahs and also other animals. When apartheid was over, the new powers took to this culture like fish to water, billions of dollars worth. I am not anti-semitic and sympathize with the jews but honestly when you read the five books of the holy Torah, one of the books is fully dedicated to the sacrifice of animals such as baby lambs and pigeons and other animals…killing, killing, killing…violence begets violence.

The two main provocations of the US for unleashing the conflict in Ukraine are the US intention to expand the North Atlantic Alliance at the expense of Ukraine and Georgia (NATO summit in Bucharest 2008) in order to encircle Russia in the Black Sea region.
