   It came to light in 2017 that in 2005 the health and safety inspectorate completed a full inspection of all of the tower blocks throughout the UK. their recommendations included sprinkler systems and fire doors and the cladding on the buildings, the report which was in writing was then submitted to the then Labour government under Tony Blair, and he and his government decided that the recommendations were to expensive and the report was shelved. Now again we find that labour had first shout about doing something about this problem, but now choose to try and pass the buck.

   The building company used materials that complied with British standard codes. They were shite materials but legal.

   It's like complaining about Google avoiding UK tax by UK tax loopholes.

   Houses are made so disgustingly cheaply these days, while being sold for a ridiculous mark up (one that many of my generation cannot afford). Developers clearly make a huge amount of money, they should pay for any faults in the buildings they produce. I wonder how many developers are paying into the Tory party to keep their necks off the chopping block and allow them to continue to build shitty, unsafe houses

   The genocide amendment is clearly aimed towards China, Canada have already abstained and the W.H.O lies for them in regards to the Covid 19 virus coming from China. While Covid to isn't itself perhaps isn't genocide it's clear governments and powerful organizations don't want to hold China accountable.

    They didn't discuss the cladding which led to glenfell!!

    They discussed how they need to save leaseholders from 50k plus bills to rectify fire safety problems set by the building industry who either built the building unsafely or are refusing to change the fire cladding with their millions of profits

    Grenfell.
    Someone made the decision to use cladding which was not rated for the purpose to which it was put.
    The manufacturers product info made it clear it was not suitable for that purpose but someone at some point specified that material.
    At the end of the specification for the job there will be the signature of the person who decided that it was acceptable to use that cladding.
    Whoever they work for is responsible.
    So sorry if it turns out to be a Tory supporter but that's how the crooked crumbles.

    The cladding issue is extremely complex. It was little to do with “dodgy” developers. There were certainly a number of contractors and designers who didn’t follow what should have been expected.

    Nobody says this, but many of the most expensive / exclusive tower blocks in the country used the same cladding systems. This is not, as the press make out, a “class” issue.

    The cladding most in question (ACM) was seen to be a high quality and expensive reasonably material. There were certainly much cheaper cladding types around.

    The guidance was flawed, complex and unclear and manufacturers lied about their products.

    At some point it will come out that two manufacturers in particular lied about their insulation.

    Thanks to @Mercedes mad, I’ve come to realise how bad this libellous video title is: what lie *about the vaccine* did Starmer tell exactly? Care to point it out? I only recall him misinforming the house on his prior position on an EU policy, to do with vaccine procurement; the notion that he lied about the vaccines vs – what he actually did – deny his prior position on vaccine procurement are worlds apart.
    I am actually quite disappointed: not just that it’s click-bait tactics, but some people won’t bother to watch this video and/or wouldn’t have watched that week’s PMQs to understand the context… but they see this title – which I’d call worse than a tacky tabloid headline – and might make all sorts of wild assumptions, for example ‘…he lied about the… is Starmer an Anti-Vaxer? Whaaa..!’
    Tacking on a question-mark at the end does not absolve you. You have ~450k subscribers and a huge list of Patreon backers; by the looks of it £1000+ per month’s worth. You don’t need to engage in this nonsense.

    It should be noted that kier starmer latert went on to acknowledge that he was wrong about denying saying we should stay in the euro medicine thingy… a more accurate response would have been "yes i said this but even if we stayed aligned 100% to the rules (which we were still at the time we started approving the vaccines) had no impact on how fast we could roll out the vaccine" as each member country had its own choice to be part of the failed european procurement or go it alone.

    The genocide amendment is kind of odd: what about Canada, the treatment of aboriginals in Canada has been labeled as genocide by outside parties… only issues was it was the French and English who did the genocide… so go would they deal with that

    Edit; I’m not trying to ignore or erase the current situations and current mistreatment

    Edit 2: what about 2m starved to deaths in India during Ww2? I would say that’s genocide

    Hindsight bias. Easy to argue you're right after the fact. He's got a big mouth about the vaccines but he's very quiet about the fact that UK infection and death rates are much higher than anywhere in Europe.

    the horrible thing is, i remember the identical to Grenfell fire that happened during the daytime before children came home from school in london where everyone happily chose to leave and ignore the advice and it was hailed as a miracle that nobody died it went up so fast. HOW was an identical fire able to take place YEARS later? Are we a thirdworld country? Are we unable to enforce law? Unbelievable and absolutely shameful. I would compare it to the Rana Plaza clothes factory collapse in Bangladesh, except that a poor country that begs its living from China and runs on corruption and sells its people as slaves to the West is perhaps to be expected. We have no such excuses.

    How about penny pinching risk averse Councils, HAs and Contractors that value engineer the crap out of projects to skim every last penny in savings or profit. It's a fundamental flaw of the Design and Build contract that allows contractors to de-value products in the name of profit or which supplier will give them the biggest kickback. It's a disgrace….

    As someone who moved to the UK from a genocidal country I think this could do alot even if you don't consider the ethical implications (which are very important). If countries and companies are made to pay financially for genocide then they are more likely to make changes. This will reduce the influx of refugees and immigrants as well as atrocities around the world. Noone wants to flee their homes. The country I left has become more entrenched in their genocidal beliefs over the years, since there has been no real international consequences. I think this move would also attract alot of businesses and people who believe in human rights to invest in the UK too.

    So I saw this title and thought WTF! Not because of what Starmer did or didn’t say – I watched PMQs and covered the ensuing commentary – but because I’ve come to expect better from this channel. With the inflammatory video title and then in the video, perpetuating unverifiable (by you) hearsay – re: the ‘altercation’ – I kind of feel you’re at risk of becoming tacky, click-bait social-media fodder. I mean, for sure you are a loooong way off that, but the slide always starts somewhere.
    I’ve never watched a ‘This Week in Parliament’ before but this one’s made me unsure.
    I watch TLDR for its usually good ‘signal to noise ratio’ and to avoid all the hyperbole and social media chaff and most importantly, have always felt like the line stops at being informed, while never feeling like I’m being influenced.
    I’m possibly being unreasonable or over-sensitive, but I wonder if anyone else had a reaction to the title… gasped or reached for the popcorn… as they clicked play 🤷🏾‍♂️
