Do you know your family medical history? For hundreds of thousands of care-experienced people, the answer isn’t always straightforward.
Missing medical and childhood information can affect access to healthcare, from identifying inherited conditions to getting an autism assessment.
In some cases, the consequences can be life-threatening, with people unaware of genetic conditions that could put them at serious risk.
BBC journalist Sophia Watkins travelled across the UK to meet adopted and care-experienced people, hearing how gaps in their records have affected their lives and what they’ve done to find answers.

Pope Leo XIV has been diagnosed with lung cancer and has had surgery to remove a lower lobe of his right lung, the Vatican has said in a medical bulletin.
The 71-year-old underwent a 90 minute operation on Tuesday at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital and was subsequently diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma.
The lump was first detected during what the Vatican has described as “routine checks”.
Earlier, large crowds gathered outside the hospital to greet the Pope, with some waiting for several hours. They cheered greetings and well wishes as he passed, while he waved and smiled back through the lowered back window of his car.
He was then met by staff on the hospital steps. “I’m sorry,” one of them commiserated, to which the Pope gave a smile and a shrug. “We’re here for you,” he was assured.
In its statement, the Vatican said the whole lower lobe of the Pope’s right lung was removed “to ensure the procedure was radical”.
A Vatican source told Agence France-Presse news agency that further tests are being carried out to see if there was any sign the cancer had spread.
Leo XIV announced news of his operation to the world on Sunday, without at that time confirming that he was suffering from cancer. Speaking from the balcony in St Peter’s Square after delivering the traditional Angelus blessing, he said the nodule, or growth, on his lung was “contained” and had been found “at a very early stage”, but that doctors had advised him to have it removed.
Nodules are quite common and not necessarily cancerous, but after it was examined the medical team confirmed it was pulmonary adenocarcinoma, “as suspected by pre-operative tests”, the Vatican said. It said that the pontiff, who is generally thought to be fit, had no symptoms of infection or illness.
Sophie Raworth presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Sarah Rainsford at the Vatican.

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent has shot a man in his car in the Bronx in New York City while the man’s five-year-old son sat in the backseat.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which runs ICE, confirmed an officer discharged his weapon while attempting to arrest a “criminal illegal alien” on Thursday.
The man, later identified as 28-year-old Oscar Belgal, was alive and at a local hospital, officials said.
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the ICE officer fired “multiple rounds” into the car with a child inside, calling it an “unconscionable and incredibly serious situation”. The BBC has contacted DHS for comment about Mamdani’s remarks.
The DHS said Belgal was from the Dominican Republic and had “a prior criminal conviction for grand larceny and multiple prior arrests for assault, robbery, possession of drugs and weapons possession”.
It also claimed Belgal was associated with a transnational criminal group.

what i want to know is where is this rocket originally supposed plan to be going?
if we can see half of this ejected this low. why are we expecting the other half to go any farther? 🤔
i mean like if half of it ejected 50-100 miles up. (even if i think its lower than that, bcoz i dont think we can capture this good video quality with 50-100 miles up but lets do say thats what happened in this video) but how far can the other half go?
surely it cant be over another 50-100 or so miles right? realizing with lesser engine equipment or perhaps gas it can hold to boost further in what the other half left.
and even if it does say go another 500 or 1000 miles up (which i think is impossible but) considering its weight is much less since its ejection and all
but my question is. what are they really trying to accomplish here? where do they plan to go? how far really is this perhaps test can reach up?
i mean the moon alone is over 200,000 miles and nearly 300,000 miles up as per science (though i dont believe its accurate) but still it dont make sense whats all this rocket is for?

Don't give a dam when a little rich boys toys break , when his money could be put into something more worthwhile, like half the world's children are starving and illness is killing them , hate space projects as it is this takes the piss and they say it wasn't failure as it was just a test , yes a test failure worth millions, any wonder the Americans are the most hated nation on this planet, any luck in future hope they move to Mars the world will be a bit more civilised 😡🏴

So many launches it’s not new to the Florida residents that see this activity every months in the coast I live in the east coast of Florida for 11 years and always saw launches same thing their telling us that it is for some kind of better communication service if some internet.
It is what they tell us not what we need to know. There’s is something else going on out there that we don’t need to know just like they announced the 6 military branch of Space Force…:
We probably are living in a Star Wars reality now what a catchy name Star Wars not Stop wars
