An easy way to cut NHS waiting times would be to cut the amount of illegal immigr……sorry, I meant "refugees" landing here…

    Just thought I'd say…

Privatisation problem solved. If nothing else, it'll stop it being a freebie for the rest of the world

Nhs do have the staff if we stopped taking more and more scroungers into the country, the same with the retirement age, we have to work longer to pay for all these immigrants coming over.

12 years of the parasitical private sector draining the life blood from the NHS , foreign american health providers employing Torys as advisors , donating to the con servative party .

Yeah the obsession with cancer to the exclusion of everything else is deeply destabilising. Try 3 years from initial contact to diagnosis for everything else. Streeting is a prat.

The more money that pours into the NHS the more managers that are recruited and it will not change under the left wing Labour,

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

NHS needs scrapping. Run by morons, anybody in the country can get treatment for free even if that's illegal immigrants. The infrastructure is a joke. The NHS is like the BBC, they are not national treasures and to be scrapped.

NHS commissioning groups have just been tasked with saving 30% running costs by 2025 – this will likely involve redundancy and job changes – whilst some will say that is good and others not – just do not simply listen to their headlines as true – as behind the scenes they are cutting resources and staff – now some of it could be cut for sure (endless diversity pushing for one but i bet that does not come under scope) – what is disappearing through repeated merges and reduction is knowledge of local areas and services and where issues are. You may wish the NHS away however do you want to be like America where acute care and GP appointments all cost huge amounts and when you most cant pay out because of ill health that is when they come in to saddle you with a bill of thousands (i wonder how many suicides this results in) – the answer is to increase taxes to the right amount to cover NHS costs so we all know what it costs and contribute according to our income – if this model wont work then it proves a new model is needed – i track the numbers of GP and Nurses employed and in training and there is no hidden resource of people waiting to come in and solve it

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

The NHS is not fit for purpose it's hasn't been since the 80s we spend 60% of the gdp this is absurd
If your serious about staff then get rid of the agencies that will pay three times the money for the same nurse
Nurses are literally leaving the NHS signing on with an agency for three t8mes the money covering the shortage caused be Nurses leaving for agencies then the NHS pays the agencies for the pleasure
Wtf you could double the Nurses pay and still same millions
The whole thing needs rebuilding not bottom up but top down get rid of the dead wood in middle management

So we as 'The UK' are going again to steal other countries' resources rather than actually managing a 'doctor training program'.

Do non of our politicians or further education institutions have ANY capability that they were supposedly either elected for or paid to achieve?

Cut the wages of all politicians dealing with healthcare.
Publish the names of the CEOs and decision makers across the Medical training institutions….

    OR,
Admit that the government's approach to retrain doctors into Medical Technicians; operating SOLELY under protocols; with no decision making freedoms, was a step too far for most doctors who, I would guess, have decided to take up some other activity – their professional knowledge now sidelined.

Don't forget the protocols needlessly killed millions. Just check how the Front Line Covid19 Critical Care Alliance, a network of practitioner doctors actually treating ALL aspects of Covid19 – preventative prophylactis, reduction of severity and preventing the cytokyne storm killing most – check for yourself the nonsense chosen protocols actually were.

As far as I know the only thing accepted by the medical researchers – put in charge of running the world's health system during the pandemic… now chosimg this group with obvious conflicts of interest: their own research to push; their own investments to grow, that was a choice devoid of ANY rational, logical thinking – the only thing brought into the treatment protocols worldwide from the FLCCC was the use of steroids to switch off our body's own immune system once the virus was destroyed; so preventing the cytokyne storm… think a moment – this change in protocol only happened slowly and actually not in accordance to the best practice that the FLCCC had narrowed it down to either; what was required were large doses of steroids for a protracted period accompanied by antibiotics to prevent health collapse due to an engineered immune-response-shutdown.

Go you wizards of health care in the UK, check old Internet pages for the clear and concise 'Best practice for treating Covid19' – there should be at least 150 weekly that doctors could have used to update their treatments with any new knowledge from practitioners.

Oh, but we were following a protocol… like the very sad one referred to in the US in the Covid19 receiving hospitals, "Though you have symptoms, even have a positive test, of Covid19 go home and come back if you can't breathe or your lips turn blue".

Respect and finance the health of the nation and the training of medical professionals, OR confess that you too are in on the retraining of our professionals DOWN to MTs (Medical Technicians) and see who in the UK votes for this move!

  22. @peterbarkworth951

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

Unrealistic. If you doubled the size of the NHS, it still wouldn't work even if we could afford it.

  23. @nobodybelievesme

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

Nothing to do with strikes then.

And now it seems the NHS needs more of my taxes. But the simple Labour plan has a "tap" to turn on and hey presto thousands of people queuing to train as doctors. And all problems solved. Simple.

  24. @Phil-bc2sd

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

He must be joking who in their right mind would adopt anything this labour trash come up with
Let’s get things straight streeting the government have not caused the 22.000 backlog it’s because of the unions of nurses ,doctors, ambulance crews telling their members to strike immediately after a pandemic when the waiting list was already at record levels
    UNION ACTION KILLS PEOPLE.

  27. @DavidGetling

BEFORE any major expansion of the NHS is undertaken about 2/3 of the parasitic management and admin staff need to be sacked. Without this essential prerequisite any extra money will be swallowed up without benefiting patients in the slightest.

  28. @stukavonferno8858

    January 8, 2024 at 2:13 pm

The real issue with the nhs and other public services is simple, there are too many people. If the population continues to grow at the current rate there will never be enough money to fund public institutions. People need to take responsibility for how many kids they're having, more than two and you're directly responsible for societal pressure!

This is all to to with lockdown, the inept way it was handled and their refusal to accept alternative advice and how emphasis was put on COVID while cancer care and other checks were put on a back burner and Labour were complicit in this and as usual their answer is just to throw money at the problem.

As if the NHS doesn't already cost WAY TO MUCH …. get rid of all the administrators and consultants … only hire FRONT LINE PEOPLE who have patient contact … every time they add funds to the NHS they add more layers of management and admin who do NOTHING to provide patient service !

Independent public committee investigating where the British tax payer Investment is spent in our NHS 🇬🇧 with power to debate with the investors and power to cutting and redirect funds back into the hospital investigated , from non medical based practices, cutting off the bloated leaches suckling from the investment, crippling any possible gains, needs to be striped back to the working medical bear bones, And investment funded with public interests.
