More US police officers charged over George Floyd death as protests continue – BBC News
All four police officers who were present when George Floyd was arrested in the US city of Minneapolis are now facing charges in connection with his death.
Derek Chauvin, the officer who was filmed kneeling on his neck, has had his charge increased to second degree murder. Three other police officers who were there have been charged with aiding and abetting murder.
George Floyd’s death has sparked huge protests in cities across America. The US Defence Secretary Mark Esper has distanced himself from President Trump’s suggestion that the military could be deployed to end the protests.
In London thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest over his death in an event organised by the campaign group Black Lives Matter.

37 people have been killed after a huge explosion at an arms depot in Ukraine which was struck by a Russian drone. The ams storage facility was based near a residential areas on the outskirts of the capital, Kyiv. Hundreds of people have been evacuated from the area and a rescue operation is continuing, with fears that the death toll will rise.
Shells, mines and drones stored at the facility exploded in a massive blast that destroyed nearby homes nearby, including a care home for the elderly and disabled.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky strongly criticised the location of the depot near people’s homes, saying an investigation had been launched into “terrible negligence on the part of those who stored explosive right next to people”.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said that its forces had targeted “an ammunition depot”.

Hawk Fire wildfire in Nevada expected to rage for another two days, say officials | BBC News
US fire crews have reported progress in their efforts to tackle a large wildfire menacing the city of Reno, Nevada – saying the blaze is about a quarter contained.
The Hawk Fire, which began on Saturday, had spread over 15,000 acres by Monday, firefighters said.
Evacuation orders remain in place for 23,000 people, though other residents have now been allowed to return to their homes. Tens of thousands of other residents have been told to be ready to leave at any moment.
Officials are concerned that gusts of wind could drive the flames towards more homes. Unfavourable weather conditions are forecast for the next two days, meaning the fire could continue to burn during that timeframe.

China has two million robots already working in factories, and is investing heavily in the hopes that one day they could bridge gaps in an already sluggish economy. What can these robots do? George Floyd, the guy who had a criminal record of violent crimes? I thought they released that info why is HE the focus. There have been actual unjust killings before but someone we should never had felt bad for is the one who sparked this violence? He shouldn't have been killed by the officer but he was far from heroic or innocent in his lifestyle.

Black culture in the USA and Britain is a victim culture, it has been born out if the civil rights movement, now that black people generally aren't discriminated against and have no legal barriers to their advancement there is a void, without discrimination this culture is bereft of any direction and so needs instances of opression real or imagined to function and make sense…..This is why we are seeing protests in Britain even though this incident has nothing to do with this country or our police. If you constantly tell people they are oppressed they'll begin to believe it, true or not.

the police knew about Furious George’s past, and they weren’t taking any chances with the ex-con. That would explain a lot. The unfortunate thing is that the police were trained by Isrealis who taught them these manuevers were the appropriate way to subdue arrestees. This isrealization of America is the real story here and the cause of our troubles.

I'm white, from EU. All lives matter, trash police abuse everyone. I'm foreigner in Germany. I was abused and hurt by German police. By force 10 officers took my blood for a drug test, 1 of them was intentionally hurting my arm and SMILING. then some officers came to the room with a smile to watch why I was screaming of pain. After they took my blood I was pushed out by force from police office while asking name of officer that pushed my hand intentionally to cause a pain to me. POLICE ARE HUMANS TOO. BUT WAY TOO MANY ACTING LIKE ANIMALS
