PC Andrew Harper’s killers to stay in jail | BBC News Exclusive
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has told the BBC that PC Andrew Harper’s killers will remain behind bars as he announces changes to the early release scheme aimed at easing prison overcrowding.
In an exclusive interview with BBC Breakfast, Burnham said anyone convicted of manslaughter will be excluded from changes brought in under the Sentencing Act, which would have made the killers eligible for early release.
Burnham said extra prison spaces would be created by deporting “hundreds” of foreign prisoners and releasing some inmates serving indefinite sentences.

At least 27 dead and hundreds evacuated after strike on Kyiv warehouse | BBC News
Twenty-seven people have been killed and almost 400 evacuated after a Russian strike hit a warehouse near Kyiv, triggering a fire and a series of explosions.
Regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said a further 42 people, including four children, were injured after the Russian drone strike in the Bucha district.
An investigation has been launched into whether ammunition was being stored at the site, where search and rescue operations were ongoing early on Saturday.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement that its forces had targeted “an ammunition depot” in the Kyiv region village of Myla, which stores “components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles”.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the strike, saying that more than 300 emergency respondents had been deployed to the strike area.

the BBC by sacking this man and his company has sacked the rare case of English humour,
It's difficult to find an Englishman who makes you laugh while going at 300km/h, there are very few Englishmen with this gift.
mostly they are boring
I think only Benny Hill made me laugh like Jeremy did

Not the biggest Clarkson fan but his last point about British management being pathetically unsupportive is sadly all too true.

I loved that he said what he thought. He reminds me of happy days where i could spew hate without fear. Has it come to this? That people are opressed by society for simply being awful spreaders of violence and hate? How far have we fallen?
Im just despicable and now i find when im punching gays that theres people who tell me its wrong. That mskes me cry.
Jeremy just wanted a world where people could be free to hate and commit crimes without all this silly "justice" and "himaniy".
Was thst wrong? Was it really so wron?

I really would like him to descend into madness and Miles fight him, but then they have to fight Kraven so he uses all his strenght to regain control and use the symbiote to his advantage. And after instead of him getting rid off the symbiote he gains control of it and actually talks to the symbiote like Eddie Brock in the movie and sort of befriends it and explains how Spider man does things. So instead of somebody else is Venom traditionally Peter ends up with the symbiote.

The One Show has apologised after Jeremy Clarkson suggested on air that strikers should be "executed in front of their families".
The provocative Top Gear presenter sparked a storm of outrage on Twitter after telling viewers of the BBC One programme that he would have striking public sector workers shot.
"I would have them taken outside and executed them in front of their families," he said.
He prefaced the remarks, however, by asserting that he liked the strikers as the industrial action meant there was no traffic on the roads. Adding that he had to be balanced as he worked for the BBC, he then launched into an anti-strikers rant, which appeared to be at least partly in jest.
Clarkson went on to shock viewers by saying trains should not stop for people who have committed suicide by throwing themselves onto the rails.
The corporation said in a statement: "The One Show apologised at the end of the show to viewers who may have been offended by Jeremy Clarkson's comments."

Best thing they did was leave the BBC, The BBC is a failing dictatorship that has only survived because many still feel they have to pay tv tax! Hope more and more people stop paying so the BBC can stop pretending its beloved and move on to subscription so brits are left alone.

amazing what the public will let you get away with, once you have a fanbase that defends you at every turn. oh he was stressed he'd had a bad year his wife was divorcing him. if that was your son being beaten by his boss who was screaming he will have him sacked all because he made an error on what time hot food stopped being served at the hotel i doubt you would be so forgiving. i liked top gear but he had to go
