Google on trial in US over monopoly claims – BBC News
The US justice department has brought a claim against tech giant Google, stating they used their power to monopolise online search services.
The US government argues Google unlawfully stifled competition by paying billions of dollars to ensure its search engine would be the default on most phones and web browsers.
Google maintains it didn’t violate anti-trust laws.
The trial is expected to last 10 weeks.

Tens of thousands of organisations have been caught out by a computer virus called WannaCry. The malicious software locks data away and demands a payment of up to $300 (£230) a time before it will restore scrambled files. In the UK, many hospitals fell victim and some health organisations diverted ambulances and cancelled non-essential services as they sought to contain and clean up the infection. Infections in more than 99 nations are being reported by security firms. It appears that the hardest hit are Russia and Spain.

Every single electronic communication technology company has a monopoly over some aspect of the industry. To include Apple and Microsoft with a monopoly over a person taking the Law School Admissions test in the US. Mac and Windows have a monopoly over that, because Chromebook is not allowed to be used. So, this is ridiculous and nonsensical. Does anyone realize how many monopolies now exist in America? Think about it.

Not to mention turning their apps on basic devices as system and unremovable! Chrome, YouTube, maps, cloud and google play services having too many permissions you can't stop or modify. I can't even uninstall a srupid weather app i don't want or use! I feel like these dang things isn't even mine when i bought it!
Buyers of these things should have full control of everything! Even if they remove something they shouldn't and have to reset it. same with Samsung though. So much bloatware from both.

well.. I don't think Google has monopoly in these days, when there are many new well functioning internet search options.
most people still choose to search on Google because, they've been using it for a long time and they trust Google's search results(a good brand value which Google has achieved over a long period of time with their tech. and innovation.) and don't have problem using google.
The only problem is for new competitors who have to bring something new and innovative for consumers, in order to stay in the competition with giants like Google.

Hmmmp, for manufacturer to use Android for free, they must have pre-installed app from google,it's a fair traide off for me,,if the judge says that's monopoly.then Google next step, is to close the entire ecosystem and only be used by Pixel phone. If that happens, then a lot of manufacturers are fucked.

hello there your support is badly needed to bring this scandal to the international community,
for so many years now and employees of Saudi Aramco oil company are suffering from a conflict between
