British politicians are coming under increased pressure to solve the issue of migrants and refugees crossing the channel. However, their toolkit of options looks pretty abysmal, with four (pretty bad) solutions being seriously considered by the government. So in this video we run through the issue, the proposed solutions and why none of them are all that good.

NOTE: At 3:20 I said "Asylum Island" rather than Ascension Island, it seems we got a bit too into typing 'asylum' when doing the script (although admittedly the island could have easily picked up the nickname if Patel's plan had gone ahead)

Also for those wondering, this video was finalised before the weekend, and thus before our new QA system for videos – Jack

The biggest problem in the UK is so called charities and protest campaigners groups like (Stand Up To Racism, BLM , Refugee welcome , Refugee Action, RNLI etc.) do not know the difference between illegal immigration and refugee/ Asylum seeker. They think refuges that fly in from Syria or Ukraine are the same as illegals that arrive on a boat from France.

Because of this woke champagne socialist mentality they are ruining genuine refugees life in the UK. Basically they are contributing to the Drug trade .

Border force is taking 600 illegals per day. Which is essentially increasing the drug trade.

    Conservative policies:

    • Cut 20,000 Police

    • Do Brexit without taking control of our laws or borders.

    • Continue take 600 illegals from France per day building the black market and drug industry.

    • Putting the NHS at its knees and giving nurses tiny pay rises.

    Labour Policies:

    • Created UK laws and human right laws that protects criminals not the victims.

    • Covered up grooming gangs.

    • Take on MP’s because they are diverse not because they can do the job.

    • Everything is about to colour.

Next time I will not be voting for Labour or Conservative.

The illegal people from France without a passport should be considered French illegal immigrants and simply put back on the next ferry back to France unless they can prove otherwise with proper identification. They come across from France and should be returned to France.

What sort of a stupid question is that ? Its like about their human rights when they enter the uk illegally ? If this government had any balls, they would return them back to France and get our 54 million quid back

ANYONE entering Illegally, in boats, ALL men, should be turned around before they even get near!!!! They have passed several SAFE countries, so don't be naive and think they in danger!! Its more an invasion than integration.

Denmark has already sending failed illegal to Rwanda. It should not be an issue for the UK to use Rwanda. Any money spent illegal to Rwanda is worth and value for money. All illegals should be deported without any exception. This illegals entry has to be stopped. It is years and the Home Office has no success. Time for hard decision. Ignore all the international criticism. There is a limit. Brexit is take control over immigration. So start to deport and face challenges in Court. As long as Home Office is able to send the illegal to Rwanda it is worth the money spent.

just find out what contries the migrants are coming from, then give them automatic citizenship, then have the military escort them to the uk. there problem solved, no more dangerous crossings(they'll have militry protection) no more issues with the numbers (it'll just be british citizens), and it is the most humanitarian because it'll be citizens migrating to a country their a citizen of.

  26. @raphaelnikolaus0486

    January 5, 2024 at 11:10 pm

Interesting question: Can you even make it less appealing to those fleeing the worse than miserable living conditions in their own country, considering that they take on these journeys despite the many reports of even more failed attempts (be it in the English Channel, through third (or non-EU) countries such as Belarus and the Balkans, or the even deadlier Mediterranean)? I would guess not.
Those people are desperate and would try it anyway, no matter how hard and unappealing we (as countries) tried to make it for them.
Those people are desperate and need our help. Those people are human beings just like we are. Or are we merely people of our respected country, the country we happened to be born and/or raised in that is? I would think not.
