Heavy shelling is continuing in Gaza, after one of its heaviest nights of bombardment in three weeks of conflict with Israel.

A fuel tank supplying the area’s only power station was hit by shells, Palestinians say, with a thick column of black smoke rising from the facility.

Israel’s prime minister warned of a long conflict ahead, as the country seeks to destroy Hamas targets.

Martin Patience and Chris Morris report.

This deliberate attack cut power to the hospital the baby delivered from the dead mother was in. He died at just four days old as a consequence.

The Israeli government says that burning a teenager is the work of “extremists” and not part of his “ethics” … Indeed, his “ethics” is to bomb civilians and destroy them by tens, hundreds, and in the recent past by the thousands. And killing children's and women's It is much more “noble”!
The truth that all the world have to know its Israel colonize Palestine. That it. That why they kill them everyday. Even if before Hamas exist. Palestinian people suffer more than 60 years from Israel the teroriste stat
And the international community has “obviously” understood it is the right of Israel to defend themselves against rockets that their technology allows them to destroy and / or divert flight.

The ethics of the State of Israel, from all political parties, is imposed on the world and Arab governments, as Asian and Western fold hypocritically. And because this hypocrisy is shared, and international, human beings and citizens around the world should make it an international cause of defending the dignity of our humanity.

Israel is destroying the infastructure of Gaza much as Britain and America did in Iraq and Libya. Why kill one Palestinian when you can kill a whole family, or nation?

You guys dont get It, Israel kills women and children and Its no accident. What better than to kill future palestinians and the mothers that May give birth to them in years to Come. Its like trying to make them extinct without having to say It. ALL this human shield bullshit and Israels right to defend itself are ALL part of the USA and Israeli PR campaign to enable as Well as legitimise this extinction strategy bcs Israel wants gaza and westbank for themselves. Palestinians know this

There is an argument that involved the United States and Israel. Who are victims of terrorism. With the national security argument enables them politically and morally to perform genocides, expand their territories and commercial interests.

I'm ashamed at most of the BBC reporting on Gaza, particularly last night.  BBC news was so biased, trying to paint the killing of innocent civilians as justifiable, in the end I had to complain. Honestly I'd rather get rid of my TV and not pay the TV licence if I'm getting this rubbish. This isn't Nazi Germany, you can call the indiscriminate killing of civilian's for what it is, which is simply murder bordering on Genocide, and still retain your journalistic integrity.

Another War crime. like or not Palestine is an occupied territory and the De Facto power (Israel) has a duty to protect civilians and not impose mass punishment on the population.

They bombed a power plant = war crime.

  18. @AnotherAllegedHuman

    January 5, 2024 at 10:36 am

Wonder just how many innocents have to die before Obama grows a spine and stands up to Israel. A thousand? Ten thousand? Does he not consider Palestinians to be human beings? What would he say if it was North Korea massacring innocents in "self defense"?

The apathy shown by my government towards the Palestinian people shames me as an American.

  19. @anaschaymae8605

    January 5, 2024 at 10:36 am

This is the beginning of Genocide. Israel is creating a Palestinian Holocaust.

How many children must die before the world says this is not ok? How can rockets which have killed no one through out this conflict justify the blind killing of thousands of innocents? All Governments have blood on their hands for letting this happen.

Israel always believes that through violence, its military might and the provision of F16 from the USA can defeat Palestinians but since last 66 years it has failed to understand that the local Palestinians had fought back for their rights of existence too. This is the third genocide not war i say not war its genocide for  the childrens and womens in gaza, its genocide made my new nazis israel the worst terroriste now . The last three weeks more than 70 nations around the globe protested against the killing of innocent children in Gaza.

The current death tolls stand at over 1,200 killed in Gaza, overwhelmingly civilians, most just children's and women's More than 6000 injured The Israeli government says that burning a teenager is the work of “extremists” and not part of his “ethics” … Indeed, his “ethics” is to bomb civilians and destroy them by tens, hundreds, and in the recent past by the thousands. It is much more “noble”! And the international community has “obviously” understood it is the right of Israel to defend themselves against rockets that their technology allows them to destroy and / or divert flight. New nazis and the worst terrorist it's Israel Shame on you Israel you just killing children's and women's And shame on all the people who support this genocide

US hits ‘dozens’ of Iranian sites in strikes, as Iran targets US bases in region | BBC News

Published

on

The US said it has hit “dozens” of Iranian military targets in overnight attacks, in response to Iran hitting commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

The military said it struck “air-defense systems, coastal radar sites, missile and drone capabilities, and small boats”, using aircraft, ships, and drones – including “one-way attack sea drones for the first time”.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor for global trade,” the US military said. “Iran does not control it”.

In response, Iran said it targeted US bases in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and also radar systems in Oman.

Trump demands 20% toll on cargos passing through strait of Hormuz | BBC News

Published

on

President Donald Trump has said the US is reinstating a naval blockade of Iranian ports and will impose a 20% charge on all cargo shipped through the Strait of Hormuz following days of escalating strikes between the two countries.

He said this would stop “Iran’s ships or customers” from entering or leaving the key oil shipping route, but “all other countries will have fair and open use of the Strait”.

Iran’s foreign minister later said whoever provides safe passage “should be compensated for this service”, but Iran would remain the strait’s “GUARDIAN” – using Trump’s word.

Tehran and Washington clashed over the strait’s control after exchanging strikes in the region overnight and on Monday.

The US said it carried out strikes against military targets in Iran, targeting air defence systems, coastal radars, and missile and drone sites. Iran said it responded by striking US military bases in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, and radars in Oman.

US launches more strikes on Iran and resumes naval blockade of ports | BBC News

Published

on

The US military said it was carrying out a new wave of strikes on targets in Iran. It said the aim of the attacks was to degrade Iran’s ability to attack shipping in the strait of Hormuz. It came ass the US Navy resumed its blockade of Iran’s ports.

Iran said that control of the strait of Hormuz was required for its national security and it will exercise sovereignty over the key shipping lane, whatever the cost.

President Trump announced that he was scrapping a plan he had announced a day earlier, for placing a 20% toll or tariff on all cargos passing through the strait of Hormuz.
