The UK’s economy is currently damaged in so many ways that it’s almost hard to keep track, but one metric is more important than many others – gilt markets. So let’s explain what they are and why the Bank of England just had to take huge action.

I've seen people make seven-figure profits in both declining and rising markets; it all depends on the information and methods used. There is no doubt that the recession and crisis haven’t benefited some people significantly.

With markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly—which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $275k bond/stock portfolio

UK parliament is majority jewish hence tens of millions or more to Ukrain , tens of millions to the EU as a PR stunt to make it look like the invaders are being stopped , backed up the USA with EU sanctions on everything Russian ,causing the rest of the world to join free trading blocks that do trade with Russia /China ,UK in recession on the road to another market crash in 2023/2024 .

UK Tory government scrapped the feed in tariff /domestic gas storage /raised the VAT on all things solar from 5% to 20% scrapped the green EV grant ,taxing EVs & turning all of Greater London into a ULENZ zone , with that to rolled out across all of the UK

The whole thing is going to crash on top of that they signed up the Paris accord an emissions based carbon zero tax grab .

In all of this MPs /Ministers & the Lords all get a garanteed fat cat salary and even fatter expenses .

In short the UK is cattle trucked !

So £45 Billion of unfunded tax cuts (leading to borrowing) was bad under Kwarteng but borrowing £400 Billion under Sunak during the worst economic crash in 300 years was ok because…inflation? Inflation is so bad we shouldn’t help push growth for jobs etc but instead constrain the economy to help private pension funds get out of bad bets. This sounds like the economy is so heavily in unsustainable debt it is a slave to anything, even good things, that might hike inflation. Is that right?

TO RESOLVE THE 2022 FINANCIAL CRISIS IS TO BRING BACK PRE- 1997 STRICT BANKING REGULATIONS AND SIMILAR MANDATORY LEGISLATION TO THE USA GLASS STEAGALL ACT TO PROTECT MORTGAGE AND PENSIONS FROM THE RAMPANT ABUSE OF THE BANKSTERS RACKETEERING.

All well. But IMF's job is. Not to assess or care about inequality. That's new to me in terms of IMF.🤷🏽‍♂️ I mean, will the World Health organisation comment on the use of VAR in football matches??

  17. @semperidem2577

    January 4, 2024 at 7:20 am

You seem to gloss over the main point in that if interest rates go up then any gilt that you already own will drop in value. The coupon is fixed. So if you need to sell to get cash you'll be losing out. This is what happened to pension funds, they were forced to sell gilts to raise money.

  18. @shehbazalam3775

Its only "incredible" if one happens to be on the side of the government. Of course there are other parties wishing to 'perform' on the 'platform' of government *but what if the power of nation states or 'geographically constrained entities' is declining? Does it remain "incredible" if there were larger entities (cough, individuals/corporations) who had larger power? And following that where does it leave central banks if they are not the centre whether linked of independent of government? Where does that leave the citizen. Like me?

  23. @Jramssy

Hopefully the next generation learns what NOT to do from this disaster

  24. @markquarrington5001

This is not a financial crisis, it is an attack on the social state. These people are happy to cause short term financial pain to everyone including themselves in order to cut public spending and privatise state services. In short a political coup.
