PC Andrew Harper’s killers to stay in jail | BBC News Exclusive
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has told the BBC that PC Andrew Harper’s killers will remain behind bars as he announces changes to the early release scheme aimed at easing prison overcrowding.
In an exclusive interview with BBC Breakfast, Burnham said anyone convicted of manslaughter will be excluded from changes brought in under the Sentencing Act, which would have made the killers eligible for early release.
Burnham said extra prison spaces would be created by deporting “hundreds” of foreign prisoners and releasing some inmates serving indefinite sentences.

At least 27 dead and hundreds evacuated after strike on Kyiv warehouse | BBC News
Twenty-seven people have been killed and almost 400 evacuated after a Russian strike hit a warehouse near Kyiv, triggering a fire and a series of explosions.
Regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said a further 42 people, including four children, were injured after the Russian drone strike in the Bucha district.
An investigation has been launched into whether ammunition was being stored at the site, where search and rescue operations were ongoing early on Saturday.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement that its forces had targeted “an ammunition depot” in the Kyiv region village of Myla, which stores “components and launch boosters for FP-1/FP-2 long-range unmanned aerial vehicles”.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the strike, saying that more than 300 emergency respondents had been deployed to the strike area.

Why not apply logic and fix the root cause of the problem?
These people are moronic idealists or a show.
They have zero care for the ethnic English.

Unfortunately, I am looking at Jess Philips , as are many people and thinking I don't like the tory government, the labour are not going to be any better, in fact they are going to be soft on immigration. Perhaps Europe as a whole ought to put their foot down on illegal immigration. The UK is a small country and more and more people are going to make that journey, as a nation we have to say 'No'

she goes on about, their in terrible danger, we were in terrible danger loads of times in the past with war,s etc, & the only nation that helped us was usa, but we didn,t all want to abandon our own country when we were getting blew to bits, the refuge,s need to stay in there own country & sort their own problems out, just like we had to, the reason they want to come here is cos they get everything given to them while our own people thats paid into the system all our lives are suffering.

Patrick McLoughlin sates,……." Were the second biggest Bilateral donor to Syria ". Err isn`t this a Country ravaged by its own leader and Army , yet we prop his people up while all the time he lives in luxury and has contributed to the decimation his country . Shouldn`t the most sensible solution be we get rid of Al – Assad and let Syria rebuild itself , hopefully with a replacement leader that actually cares about his people.
Why is it that the UK seems to be one of the very few Country`s helping these oppressed countries of the World AND , is expected to it seems ? We CANNOT save every country in trouble in the World, It has to be a Collective effort by the many, many countries that are in the position to help also. Do we see China helping ? Do we see the Rich African Countries helping? Do we see any South American Countries helping , etc etc ???? Look at the UK`s list of Forign Aid countries we give millions to each one manually . India which we give millions to , has just sent two space rockets to the Moon and the Sun . Why the Hell are we wasting money donating millions to such a rich Nation as India ??
