Ukraine war: Wagner says Bakhmut transfer to Russian army under way – BBC News
The head of Russia’s Wagner mercenary group has announced that its forces have started withdrawing from the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.
Yevgeny Prigozhin has vowed to transfer control of the city to the Russian army by 1 June, but Kyiv says it still controls pockets of the city.
He said his forces were ready to return if the Russian regular army proved unable to manage the situation.
The battle for the city has been the longest and bloodiest of the war.
There were about 70,000 people living in Bakhmut before the invasion, but only a few thousand remain in the devastated city, once best known for its salt and gypsum mines and huge winery.

Iceland has voted against resuming membership talks with the European Union, public broadcaster RUV has reported, with just one constituency’s votes left to count.
It reported that 52.5% of the 188,496 votes so far counted had rejected the government’s proposal, while 47.5% had said yes. Some 9,500 votes separated them.
Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir’s centre-left government promised to hold a referendum by 2027, but brought it forward because of international tensions, including US President Donald Trump’s threats against Greenland.

The US/UK government does not hold or value any principles or virtues whatsoever other than greed.
They lifted their sanctions against the NAZI faction in Ukraine because they knew they could use them against their proxy war with Russia.

Ukraine is trying to save face. Even tho we send weapons they cannot win. If they say Russia can’t mobilize any troops than they have no idea what Russia is and it’s history. Ukraine can no longer mobilize troops. It has no population left. They need to sue for peace now

We CANNOT trust what Ukraine says. It’s like what Fortune 500 companies say to boost their stock. They know if they just lost a meat grinder of a battle that the west would hesitate and rethink their support. They rely on OUR money. I think Ukraine should be independent but after doing research on the regions Russia wants and the NATO aggression, I see both sides of the government. Having a Ukrainian government official on is insane. They are obviously dying in droves and don’t have the man power to continue for to long until the US and the EU declares was and sends people in. It’s all dumb.
