Turns out it was a game changing moment. Labour voters voted for Brexit Party. And lib dems didn’t gain any seats in the south and southwest.

Incredible, Boris repeats the same kind of fantastical promises and lies that he and the leave campaign fooled people with in 2016 and even though everyone has now seen the mess those lies led to and the impossibility of delivering on those promises, people still swallow it hook, line and sinker.

Yes. There was a deal. Did Nigel just happen to watch a video that Boris just happened to make, just days before the nominations for candidates closed, promising major changes in his position? Did Nigel just happen to stand down in all the Tory seats? He could have been much more selective, and had a bigger effect with less seats, but he went with all the Tory seats. The Brexit Party are considered by over half the Tory MPs to be extremists who want a "no deal" Brexit. Boris can't openly support the Brexit Party, and Nigel knows this. All the signs are that this was planned by high ups in the Tory and the Brexit Party, not including Boris and Nigel, who had to be able to say they had not been in talks with each other.

Nigel hasn't given up any seats the Brexit Party could have won. He has helped the Tories in seats that were won by the Tories with a small majority against Labour, or Tory seats in remain constituencies that could go Labour or Lib Dem. This is to help Brexit, not particularly to help the Tories. The best thing for the Brexit Party, since they are unlikely to win an outright majority, (some would say impossible in the present first past the post system), is to help the Tories get a small majority, or close to it, and hope to hold the balance of power with, say, 10 to 20 MPs. Our voting system has to be used tactically, particularly by the Brexit Party, whose potential voters are spread across a great many constituencies. Nigel has done the best thing for Brexit.

Labour is not a party that wants to stop Brexit. We have a Brexiteer leader for a start.

  12. @suemarshall6185

    January 2, 2024 at 11:23 am

    Nigel is a pragmatist.
His candidates have been out knocking on doors for a few weeks now, so he must have a clearer view of the voting intentions in Tory areas. With Boris promising no political alignment, it makes it harder to condemn his treaty.
Nigel is no fool. Keep the faith!!!

Who the hell beleives this twat Farage anymore?give the power to some lunatics like this one(and to Trump' s impersonator -Bojo) and they shall bring the country to recession. Good luck!"vanity is man's worst sin", applies best to UK's situation: "We are leaving..but you see, that is going to make lots of people loose their jobs( I know so many that have already lost theirs because of Brexit)..it doesn't matter, we are leaving"..

Mr Farage is not chicken. He is just doing the bidding of his puppet overlords. This is simply a sellout. Just watch for his upcoming "golden parachute". I am sure he will do quite nicely.
