You can't freeze internationally set prices unless the tax payer covers the amount past the capped amount

Debt is not the answer. The government caused this and further involvement will only make things worse.
Bin net zero and use our own coal, oil and gas. Then make up with Russia instead of prolonging the war

So those who don't get any help pay the additional cost now and pay back the loan, socialism at its best. How about the same system but make those who supported the net zero green agenda (which is responsible for this mess) pay back the loan and also exclude them from any help now. They wanted this so let them live with the consequences.

The high price that renewable generators are paid to supply the pool is inflating the whole cost of energy because the cheaper generators are paid the same price regardless of their actual generating costs.

What happened to all the gas and electricity that we have Westminster has always stated that we had more than we use forget the greens and get our people working on nuclear power stations and sinking more wells around our caosts

  23. @davemc9268

    January 2, 2024 at 4:06 pm

    Nationalize the energy companies.
    Reintroduce the price cap.
    End sanctions against Russia.
Get on your fubking knees, cap in hand, and go grovelling to Putin to sell us as much gas as we can buy hopefully at price both him and us find acceptable.
Otherwise your going to have riots that'll make the civil war look like a WI village fete long, before you find 'alternative sources'.

The answer is to start exploiting our own energy resources under our feet , that not rocket science . Why won’t people say this , are they scared of the eco warriors in their incredibly inefficient electric cars ( yes look at the costs of them in totality ).

The plan was always to kill off small businesses whilst strangling the tax payers, this is just plan B, plan C this winter is to continue to finish off the public.

  27. @captainbuggernut9565

    January 2, 2024 at 4:06 pm

This is a joke. These two tories are responsible for this mess. We have no government and two talentless auditions thanks to them voting to throw the country into turmoil in the middle of a crisis.

  28. @hxjay1971

    January 2, 2024 at 4:06 pm

No government in their right mind would allow this to happen its the same as cutting your own throat what and who survives through to january will then be finished off with the next ridiculous hikes the economy and infastucture will be devastated the bills cannot be paid now so raising them even more is simply ludicrous the government are complicit in this and have declared war on their own people if this is allowed it will be a catastrophe the likes this country has never seen before

  29. @davidlloyd2583

    January 2, 2024 at 4:06 pm

Ah, so the workers will be funding the non workers. I don't mind helping old and helpless but the rest of the hangers on can do one. Why am I funding hundreds of thousands of people who get free everything for being here illegally.

A.I. facial recognition tool to detect adult migrants posing as children

Published

on

By

An AI facial recognition tool that aims to detect adult migrants posing as children will be deployed at the UK’s borders next year.

The software will estimate a person’s age by analysing photographs of them taken at the border.

The Home Office says the technology will make it easier to identify adult migrants “attempting to game the system”, after initial testing indicated “promising performance and accuracy”.

But Human Rights Watch urged the government to scrap the scheme, describing it as “unproven technology” that will undermine the protections vulnerable children are entitled to.
